Hmm are you on the ER? If you are, they shouldn't be asking...
  • yes , i am on ER.
just to update , received an email yesterday welcoming me to American Express online statements so it looks like a yes.
any idea what sort of limits they give on these cards out of interest.
I have to earn over 30,000 a year to have one. It is the blue rewards card I applied for. Dont want to ring and ask , just curious

Regardless of other available credit, i'd wager between 2 and 4K.

Amex are somewhat rigid on limits.

But if you are on the ER, i don't see wh they are asking for ID/proof of address, they shouldn't be.
  • Kick in at 3500 and get up to 10 000 over three years, thats what i got from AMEX back when i was in your similar situation (based on the basics discussed here)

Yeah almost identical for my wife, on her platinum cashback card.
  • thanks all , dont really know why they asked for the id , i presumed it was just that the post office seem to have a couple of different formats for my address and they wanted to check . does that make sense ?
