Or if she has an Android phone then Google Navigation is free.0

She has been driving for 10yrs and was promoted at work and decided to treat herself to a brand new car, but decided not to add the sat nav option and used the money available for things she will use more often. Thanks for your safety concern.0

I`ve heard that Tom Tom map updates are very expensive.
Do all Sat-Navs charge for updates?
Might be worth bearing in mind when buying.0 -
Check Auto Express website product reviews for comparisons.0

The aforementioned Android devices will update themselves. Nokia Ovi Maps will also be free (provided you have a capable handset):Does anyone know?

My Road Atlas updates cost £2 a year at Lidl's.;)
No nagging, I know where I am going and no slime bag is going to pop my windows to steal it.0 -
I want to buy my daughter a sat nav for her birthday as she has just got a new car, can anybody advise what is the best sat nav at the moment for value and information?. Preferably one that is easy to use!.
I couldn't advise which is the best, but I can advise where is best to buy one (IMO) - Costco.
I bought my first one from Costco about 3 years ago - it failed several months later and wouldn't turn on. Costco didn't even bother taking it out of the box when I brought it in - I was given a new one immediately.
Sat nav 2 lasted a good couple of years until the cradle broke. Even though the satnav itself was perfectly good, they refunded again without issue.
Sat nav 3 is a Garmin, was cheaper than satnav 2, therefore not only did I walk out of Costco with a new satnav, but about £20 cash in my pocket (they always refund the difference in cash if you choose an alternative)
You will not get service like that at Kwik Fit, Halfords etc - well worth the membership fee for Costco.0 -
Just a word of warning, I went through 4 tomtoms in less than 12 months, just stopped switching on. I have since bought a Navman and never looked back, every bit as good and easy to use as the tomtom and far more sturdy and reliable.0
