Well done! You seem to have got your financial head well in gear now which augurs well for you for the future. I think now you're used to being in control of your finances, there's little chance of you going off track again, apart from the occasional incidents which crop up unexpectedly for all of us and try to derail us.
  • gallygirl - I did DD101 Introducing The Social Sciences which is a Level 1 module with the Open University which counts towards a Psychology degree. It was good although it is designed to give you an overall taste of the social sciences so some parts of it had no appeal to me such as politics.

rich11 - cheers mate, we are still only 2 points off first though seeing as though Blackpool lost :T

    snowqueen555 - Thanks! Will do :)

Primrose - Thanks - just wish I'd begun doing this like 10 years ago or more, then I'd be living in my own flat/ house by now...better late than never I guess

Oh, I did that, loved it :). The psychology degree is great :), good luck :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Yup, haven't used it but it did provide a good talking point at interview with current employer :). In the good old days when we used to recruit staff (:o) I always looked well on anyone studying in their own time - shows real commitment, time management and perseverance. And a good brain :D.

  • Well hopefully it will be worthwhile in the end then :)

Struggling a bit this month as spent too much at the top of the month so only got around £40 to myself after all expenses are considered with 3 weekends left in the month to pay day...any money saving ideas would be appreciated :o

  • Hey MoneySaver2007 ;) Good to finally have an update at last.

Congrats on not smoking for so long that shows real perseverance and you should be proud of yourself.

Hows things on the girl front going? I know its hard because you are trying to save so probably not going out as much, but you'll be surprised where you can meet girls i.e. on the bus / at work? :)

Are you still looking around for another job or decided to play it safe and stay at your current employer for the time being?
  • I joined a dating website but not had much luck with it yet..

And still checking for jobs daily which so far hasn't been very successful, however I'm just grateful to have employment regardless of whether I enjoy it or not as there are so many people who would love to be in my shoes.

Advertised a few things on eBay this eve in an attempt to make things slightly easier till pay day..just hope they sell :)

  • Good morning MW,

This morning I have read your post from start to finish. I'm very impressed with how far you have come and your attitude. I'm 32, live with my aunt and have a lot of debt. This is despite having a good income for most of my working life. I see you have had a couple of minor wobbles where you wonder if it's worth it, it definitely is. You have come a long way and you are in a far better position than most. Thank you for the inspiration. I wish you the best of luck with your degree and future, with your attitude good things will come your way!
