Thanks ampersand for your kind words.
I think you're right in that a girl I may meet in a bar/ club situation will not be The One. So therefore, by cutting out the binge drinking I will not be cutting out the chance to meet a decent girl. I just need to find other things to do which may present opportunities to meet women. As you suggested, something as simple as going to the supermarket can potentially be a meeting place...
...I went to play snooker after work today with some work colleagues, something a bit different to my normal routine and although there were no women there, it still got me doing something different. Didn't cost much either - 60p for half a coke (was driving) and 20p for the lights on the table for 10 mins.
I've arranged to go pike fishing tomorrow with a work colleague, so that should be a good way to waste a few hours - not sure about the weather though! Will have to wrap up well. Got to go to the dentists first so will be glad when that is over and done with.
In terms of stopping smoking, if I am going to be cutting out the binge drinking, maybe stopping smoking will be easier as the binge drinking has always been my undoing during previous attempts. Will need to build up to this mentally though.
I checked the National Express link you gave me but for a return to London it keeps quoting me around £40 - maybe I am doing something wrong here...would be nice to visit London as I was born down there.
Oz mining sounds interesting, I will check out the links you gave me regarding this.
Only got £295.74 to last me until the 25th and need to save as much as possible in order to fund some car repairs that need doing at the end of the month. Between now and then I have a dentist check up, petrol, food and 1 weeks rent to pay for. And...1 haircut. So it doesn't leave much to spend on leisure activities sheesh
Moving into the new room on Sunday afternoon and have Monday booked off. Got someone coming round on Monday to feed a wire into the room from the satellite dish so I can get FreeSat (more expense.) On the plus side, my landlord said he will pay for the paint if I decide to paint the new roomExciting times... except for the relatively low level of money I have right now...

What about going swimming or something like that in a local (council) sports centre one night a week, say a Friday, instead of going out drinking? Bound to be some fit, sporty women there. Or go to a circuit training class once a week?

Thought about going swimming, do many 26 year olds go swimming on their own? Don't want to look weird, but should be ok??
Could see if my sister wants to go...Total in ISAs = £8,863.500 -
i've subscribed to yoru diary, its tough when you're young with the social thing. the 'one' will probably be a friend of a friend. thats how it usually happens in my experience. as you get older and people get their own places socialising will be cheaper with house parties etc.Aug 24 - Mortgage Balance £242,040.19

I've put in North Yorks generally><London and find multiple £4.50 e.w., so under £10 rtn. Don't know how you've managed £40-ish.
Remember to try College training salon for haircut.
Good luck - don't be discouraged: you are doing well.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

I used to go swimming on my own, I guessed that once you're actually swimming, there's not much interaction between people so I think lots of people do go on there ownBut alas, i'm not a great swimmer! So I took up running which I love :j I put a dvd on my ipod and go, i find it a lot easier to run too as I still kinda feel involved in the film, rather than music. I try and run 5 miles, 3 times a week. The first mile is always the hardest and sometimes it's hard in a 50+ hour work week/cold rainy weather but I always feel better after it, and a hot bath/shower always feels extra special afterwards

I used to go on my own in my 20's and got chatting to lots of people at the gym, both male and female. Maybe your sister would like to go with you but if she doesn't just go and try it, nothing to lose. You never know, there may be people there who want training partners so it may introduce you to a new group of friends and you could meet more women that way. Maybe some gyms round your way allow for a sauna and steam afterwards aswell.#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -
