Who actually lives in a glass house?
I've never seen anyone!
Agreed - also, you'd think for the (presumably small) minority of people that do live in such dwellings, it would be very much common sense not to throw stones in or at the house.
In fact, if I owned a glass house, I'd find the "don't throw stones.." advice to be somewhat patronising.0 -
I do believe it was originally phrased in Troilus and Criseyde, but since the evolution of Martin Lewis' tribe of loan dodgers it has now evolved into a cunning conversation dodger to distract those who take issue. Chaucer would be so proud.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Well seeing as everyone seems to have got a little side tracked shall we do a little summary for the OP, so that we can actually give her what she came for. A little Help and guidence. Pls feel free to help correct my list or move things around a little, im no expert but im doing my best to help.
To Do List:
Phone CAB organise appointment.
Write a letter to the bank, listing all your incoming and outgoings, and telling them how much you can afford to pay on the loan each month(even if it is only £5 a month token payment). There is a form to help you with this but i cant find it, if someone who has could put a link here that would be great. Cancel your direct debit to the bank.
Open a new bank account with a bank you do not have any debts with, get all your benefit money paid in here and set up all your bills to come out of it too. Making sure to set up a standing order of the amount you told the bank you could afford to pay them.
Hopefully you should hear back from the bank quite quickly. Make sure you do set up the standing order to pay them something though as it will prove that you are not just trying to dodge the debt. As people have said, they will send you letters until the CAB get involved, but at least you will be able to feed your family. Try not to stress too much. You are trying to deal with your debt and not just burying your head in the sand.
Please people feel free to edit and add to my post as you see fit but only in a constructive manner. We all make mistakes, lets just try to help each other out of them shall we?0
