blimey, this is only my 3rd or 4th post on here, I thought it was meant to be supportive... I feel sorry for the OP, she's clearly doing her best, and I'm sure she didnt expect to be in the middle of a gunfight.
not sure I'll be back tbh but hope singlemum gets it sorted.0 -
To singlemumandproud dont let other people or the banks get you down if you cant afford it and you dont plan on getting credit for the next 6 years just stop paying it.
All they can do is send you nasty letters and threaten you with court action, the worst case scenario is they take you to court where the court will order you to pay what you can afford, which if you list all your incomings and outgoings correctly will end up being around £5 a week.
Most likely you will just be passed around different dca's each sending their own range of threatograms.just ignore them until the 6 year limit comes around then tell them its statute barred and then thats the end of it.
Thats all they can do put a black mark on your credit file and send you nasty letters its not really worth worrying about as long as you can live without credit for the next 6 years. I think i owed over 30 grand a fair few years ago when i stopped paying my debts now its all gone if i had kept paying it id still be doing so now, i went through the threatogram stages a few times but you soon realise its all rubbish and you get used to the postmarks so it goes straight in the bin unopened.
Its up to you what you do but if i where you i would concentrate on feeding my family and getting myself straight than worrying about paying the bank back their interest.
Hope this helps0 -

Thats a bit of a sweeping statement to make when you know nothing about me.
I was just letting the op know the extent of the actions taken when for whatever reasons you cant afford to pay your debts, its not the end of the world, the ground doesnt open up and take you straight to hell, all they can do is send threatening letters and thats about it.0 -

Well this is the worst post ive seen on here not the post itself but the answers. Singlemum take no notice of the harsh/stupid answers. they seem to be having a bad day and need to take it out on someone other than themselves.
If thi forum keeps bringing on people who just like to argue then it should be closed down. It isnt for arguing, it is for advice, not judgemental comments.
