They are by far the most corrupt and unethical of all the big supermarket chains, and I'm glad not to shop there. I do miss my Clubcard vouchers, but it's a small price to pay.
In what way?0 -
I thought it was well known. Start with Tescopoly by Andrew Simms.0

Tescos are the master of spin. If they were employed as a spin doctor we still have Gordon Brown in power0

The 'master of spin'? What do you mean? Their advertising/marketing?0

Yes its good marketing to tell us we are getting more. Many "normal" shoppers probably are getting more clubcard points but unfortunately those points are now worth less in real terms.
The Disneyland Paris reward is a prime example of how much this doubling of points is costing points collectors - face value for our points?! What happened to four times the value for holidays?
In real terms the scheme is worth less to those of us who have been keen collectors of clubcard points for many years. Tesco are hardly going to tell us that though are they0 -
I absolutely hate Tesco and always dread shopping there. They are, by far, the worst supermarket I've ever shopped in and I've shopped in a fair amount around Europe. The only reason I force myself to shop there is simply because of the clubcard points. They've given me completely free holidays in the past.
I would switch to Asda in a heart beat if they started their own clubcard with the option of collecting airmiles.
I'd love to see the day Tesco is burned down to the ground. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Choose another supermarket and shift your loyalty. You can do it. :beer:0 -
As a student of marketing, I can tell you that Tesco are the masters of marketing in the UK. They continue to develop innovative and clever ways of marketing their products to consumers. Working in Tesco marketing is the pinnacle of the consumer marketing industry.
Many people tend to think of marketing as a dark art, but it's really about maximising people's intention to buy. They offer value, but you must be aware of their ways and means of doing so. If people didn't shop there, they wouldn't have the market share they do now. It's also worth considering that although Tesco have a huge share of the market, they are also a huge employer and still growing in this economy - not something to sneeze at.
Their supplier management practices are a different thing entirely, and are not to be admired.
Just my 2p.0 -

There you have it in a nutshell. If you hate Tesco don't shop there. You never get something for nothing, even if it costs you your principles.0 -

The lack of Clubcard points is painful, I know, Elky. But you can do it. Tesco is a horrible, horrible company, from Terry Leahy's smug self-satisfaction and determination to conquer the world, to the way they treat their suppliers, to the huge tracts of land they own all over the country - just to stop other supermarkets from building stores on them - to the way they pretend that we are important to them.0
