Problems with Virgin Credit Cards - not recieving a statement.

I have a system in place (which works for me, or seemingly used to), I've got a couple of credit cards and when I recieve the bills I put them by my computer and then pay online when I get online - the bill on my computer is my reminder to pay it. (I dont like direct debit)

I took out a virgin credit card a little while ago, and twice now I've been chased as I've missed payments - but when I've checked - I've not recieved a statement from them.

:( I'm concerned by this, as up until this point I have never missed a payment in my life and my credit rating has been spotless. I'm worried by what damage this will have done to my credit rating?
and also curious if anyone else has had issues with Virgin statements not arriving?

Have you checked your account to ensure that:
    1) your address details are correct
    2) you have email/text bill reminders turned on
    3) that you have not selected paper-free billing

    thanks for the replies.

I do my online payments from my bank account and not from the cc company web facility - the last thing I want is yet more usernames and passwords!
    I'm setup for paper billing.

I dont like DD as I prefer to pay more some months when I can afford to and less other months when I have other out goings.

I have seen lots of people on this forum stating that their first statement by Virgin didn't arrive in the mail. I had that exact same thing happen to me when I took out the card 2 years ago. The second and subsequent statements turned up.

A possible trick by Virgin to make extra money out of missed payment fees and loss of 0% rates? The cynic in me says yes.

Anyway, ring up and talk to a member of staff. Be very apologetic, take all the blame and offer to set up a direct debit then and there for the minimum payment (even if you plan to cancel it later), and they may refund your fees.

In addition, you've probably lost any 0% offer you had on the card because of the missed payment. Ask them on the call if they'll reinstate it.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

    Did you apply recently?

These days, they don't send paper statements. The current application page shows, next to the email field:

"We will use your email address to send you emails to service your account and notify you when your online statement is ready to view. As your account comes with paperless statements you will need to enrol in Online Banking to see your online statement."
    Enjoy the silence...

Well, home from work now, checked through my files and I had recieved the statement and had also paid it!!
As I do with all payments I do online, I wrote the date and amount paid on the statement.

(I assumed when writing on the forum that after the previous incident of not recieving a statement that this was the case again.)

Unfortunately when I go on the my banks website and check my account they dont have a record of the payment been sent on my statement.

I dont think there's anything I can do, as its only my word that I completed the payment online. Extremely annoying!

Virgin rang me - hence I was aware of the fact they had not recieved the payment - I paid on the phone. I wasn't rude, a little perplexed maybe, but not rude. And I have now lost my 0% and have been charged interest and a late payment fee.

How bad is this sort of thing for my credit score?

I hate these - I have a poor internet connection, and dont want to have to remember more user names and passwords. Its far easier to have a statement (when it arrives) and glance down it than have to look at it on the screen.

I have literally dozens and dozens of accounts and passwords I have to remember related to my job, yet alone having to remember more - ARGHHHH!!!!!!

So set one up for the minimum payment*, and make additional payments by your existing method.

    * And put an end to late payments/CRA markers/loss of promotional rates, by making the card provider responsible for taking the payment...not you for sending it.

I have the DD set up for £25 then pay online any extra amount of my choice with Virgin.

I also get paper bills and every time I get one they try to tell me to register for online bills but I just ignore it.

sorry I typed while the above was being posted
