Saver-express.....now select n save **scam**

Options
Regarding the Ebay scam, where sellers with 100% feedback are approached and asked to sell goods on behalf of a company...there is a new name Select n Save and the email contact is

tina@selectnsave.com or info@selectnsave.com

I was conned into selling goods for them, but through a personal ad in Gumtree - I was stupid enough to respond.

If anyone has any info on this company would they please let me know or if u need assistance form me i am happy to help.

It does indeed sound like the same company - similarity in the company name and the same "Tina" as the contact.

I have just been scammed by this company too.

I've reported it with actionfraud.org.uk, insolvency.gov.uk and consumerdirect.gov.uk and my local police.

I've also spoken with Crimestoppers but the only advice I've been given to recover the money is to sue them in a small claims court.

Do you know of any other methods?

For phoenix5 and others, if you could also file a report with Action Fraud it would be a great help in their investigations. The more information they receive, the easier it is to build a case.

toffeecream - You might find this other thread interesting. I think these two companies - saver-express and select n save - could well be the same. Perhaps you could compare notes with the other people who have come forward towards the end of the thread, having been scammed in the same way.

Hi OP dropshipping used to be the in thing and then companies like the one you were unfortunate enough to get involved with started springing up.
If anybody is considering selling for a dropshipping company or one like the one the OP is taking about they must remember this.
You are selling from YOUR ebay account and the money is going through YOUR paypal accout this meants YOU are liable for all and any mistakes the company you are selling for make.
Even if it is a legitamate company any refunds will be taken from YOUR paypal account and YOU will be out of pocket.
As the OP has stated in their post they now have to try and recover the money refunded to buyers from their paypal account themselves with little or no help from anyone.
I am sorry I do not have any better news for you OP and good luck in getting your money back hopefully your post will warn others about the dangers of selling for third party companies.
• How do these people sleep at night? More people need to be aware of these scams to prevent them from happening.

• Hi,

I have also been scammed by this company, Select n Save, and dealt with the same contact, "Tina".
Like phoenix5, I also (stupidly) responded to the ad that was posted on gumtree.

I have contacted eBay and Paypal customer support about it, and they are looking into it, but it seems unlikely that I will be able to recover my money. I suggest anyone else who has been scammed by this company also contact eBay and Paypal customer support, as if they are aware that the company has been using more than one eBay account, they may be more likely to look into it further!

I am also going to report it to actionfraud etc.

If anyone else has more info on this company, please contact me!

Sorry to hear that gab, hope you manage to track the scammers down.

However, I would just query your phrase " as if they are aware that the company has been using more than one eBay account, they may be more likely to look into it further" as actually the company were not trading at all on ebay so is actually very little to do with them or paypal. It was the 'seller' in each case that was trading (and one hopes using a proper business account if they are going to ebay with complaints about being scammed) .

With all these nasty scams it does rather work on the seller , ie the 'victim' being a little unsure of ebay and paypal rules and protection.

• Also, I have just found the address for a company called Select 'n' Save ltd:

11 MOUNT ROAD
PENN
WOLVERHAMPTON
WEST MIDLANDS
WV4 5SN

Does anyone know if this was the address that was on their website (which has now been removed)?

I also searched their sort code several weeks ago and found that they were based in London. Surely they must be traceable via their account details??

You would need a court order to force a bank to reveal details of addresses from a bank account number there is also a very good chance it was a disposable account, and they are long gone.
