Milk doesn't help me at all. I remembe when I used to have coffee in the morning, it wouln't wake me up. If I had it in the evening, I couldn't sleep.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

What pharmacy is letting you buy so much nytol? It comes in a pack of 7 for a reason i.e. it's for short term use only!
See your doctor for help with sleeping don't just self medicate with stuff from the pharmacy, you'll probably just do permanant damage to your body clock.0 -
I can't sleep either - I drop off no problem, wake up thinking what a great night's sleep I've had then realize that I've only been sleeping for half hour
I'm blaming my meno though & my Tamoxifen gives me panic attacks where I wake up in a raging sort of shock  Maybe tonight will be my night as I've worked ever so hard today

Not the same one each time.
My gp won't give me anymore proper sleeping pills as i'm prone to OD.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

I've just googled Promethazine which is the active ingredient in Sominex so I shall get some of them to try & alternate.
Thanks for the suggestion. :A

Coffee is not a stimulant in everyone....and has, actually, been proven to be a relaxant in many.0

I've given up worrying about it now and just accept it is the way I am. It was actually very handy as a youngster as it meant I could fit in working 5 jobs, starting at 6 in the morning and ending at 2 the following morning! And it still comes in handy now with the boys and their problems...means I am not completely dead in the morning if I have to be up with them all night.
So, I will get up, make a cup of tea, read or watch some telly, get my V pillow and leave the light on.....my brain then thinks its daytime and I go to sleep! *Well not everytime but approx 6 out of 10
I now don't have curtains on my bedroom window, so if I can't sleep, I can also gaze at the stars.
But the not worrying about getting to sleep tends to do it for me.
Since being put on amitriptaline (or however it is spelt), I find I am bashing out quite fast and staying asleep for 4-5 hours but I dare say my body will get used to it fairly quickly and be back to the normal 3 hours per 24 hour period. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Sadly just prescription sleeping tablets do the trick for me. I have an agreement with my doctor that I get a a 1 weeks supply a month. Then if I need a really good sleep, I'll take one.
Tried everything else. Living on a few hours kip a night really ain't much fun.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
Only thing is was going say was go docs to get to the bottom of it it more than likely wont go away. Ive tried nytol, counting sheep and dont think about not sleeping.0
