Can't take Nytol & Piriton together as they are both sedating anti-histamines - it's either Nytol or Piriton. Both are only usually effective for short term use though. They can have side effects, so best to discuss use with your GP.
I've just got a talking book machine from the RNIB - it's wonderful during the day if I'm listening to it while pottering about, but if I'm in bed or sat down on the sofa I can be asleep within 10 minutes! I spend ages trying to find the bit I got to before I dropped off
I also find it good for the times I wake up in the wee hours too. Especially if its a fluffy chick-lit book that you don't need to concentrate on & read by someone with a soft Cork accent.
Failing that, red wine...And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -
A bath. brandy and hot milk and a book. and if I still cant sleep another brandy and hot milk and at least I am feeling very content.Slimming World at target0

I'm not as strange as my partner thankfully. Coffee makes him tired but he does love his coffee in the morning all the same :rotfl:. He drinks one right before bed and he's out basically as soon as the mug goes down on he floor . He is autistic so his brain works differently with stimulants etc coffee = sleep, hot chocolate = awake (think of it as antidepressants not working on you due to your brain wired differently!).
I'm autistic too so maybe thats why the milky hot drinks have never worked for me. :eek:I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

By the way did you try it? If so did it work?I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
2 X Diphenhydramine ? or are you taking the herbal ones? Have you tried Promethazine (phenergan) they are another sedating antihistamine, sometimes changing can make them work better again, and then change back..........Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

I didn't go to bed until 5am so didn't need to in the end.
I will try it tonight though as the kids are coming back & I need to be up earlier than 12pm tomorrow or my house will look like a whirlwind has hit. :eek:I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Yes, 100mg of Diphenhydramine isn't working anymore despite it being twice the recommended dose.
I've just googled Promethazine which is the active ingredient in Sominex so I shall get some of them to try & alternate.
Thanks for the suggestion. :AI'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Nothing could make me worse.

I'm so lucky that my problems are accompanied by physical pain like yours are.
I hope you manage to get yourself sorted too hun ((hugs)).
If I didn't have kids i'd just accept the fact that i'm noctural but kids need feeding etc during daylight hours. :rotfl:I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.
