not sure what you hope to acheive concerning dadt protection? this is aimed at information they have about you, nothing to do with them taking payments. by all means waste time and energy on it, personally if one of my direct debits doesnt come out when i expect it to i call the recieving company and ask why so as not to miss any payments0

The first question is why didn't you contact them in June (or July for that matter) to notify them that the money was still in your account? Do you still have the money or have you spent it? If you still have it just make a manual payment to make up the two that were missed. The next question is what do you actually want them to do to resolve this for you? It's not at all clear and you won't get anywhere with them until you know what you want them to do.Getting married 02.08.14

Well information they hold on my account has to be handled correctly as if they don't do things correctly then it can reflect badly on my credit file - I expect payments to be taken when they are supposed to that's the whole idea of DD as you don't have to worry. I assume that payments were made on the 24th of the month as that's pay day and if they don't get in touch then why would I expect anything different.0 -
yeah... that's not how the DPA works... think you might be about to waste a lot of time for no gain...Debt free 4th April 2007.

here is a handy guide so you can read up on your rights yourself.
"have accurate information" is different to "act on that information"

Human error could have played a part as their staff are a joke. The error will be at their end and I am looking in the direction of data protection as it gives me concerns over my data management.
Where about in your finance agreement does it say the finance company have any (never mind a legal) obligation to inform you that the Direct Debit wasn't set up/successful?
I would expect that if the account fell behind they would contact you to advise you of this. With several options available to them, like phone or letter, are you sure you didn't receive anything to say the account was behind or even that a fee had been applied? (There is a legal obligation now for them to do this.)0 -

I never received anything about it as after I rang them in May there wouldnt have been a reason for me to worry about it - thats why I am annoyed as I was under the impression that the money would be taken and to get word that they never took the money takes the mick. All I would ask of them is to explain why the payments werent taken.0 -
