OK been thinking about goals and aims for the coming year;
- Notice the small things - sometimes I get so caught up with 'stuff' I don't see/hear whats going on around me so I'm hoping to slow down and pay more attention.
- Keep in touch with friends on a more regular basis - thats folk who don't live nearby or I haven't seen for ages
- Keep up the eating plan and lose more weight
- Try to get the mortgage down to below £20000
- Try and sort out savings into account/ISA with decent rates

Our washing machine is behaving very oddly so am wondering if its going to need replacing? Its the on/off button which has worked for a while only by having bits of paper jammed round it to hold it in. However that doesn't seem to work either the last few days. I've had to put it on [light doesn't work] and set it up then leave it and suddenly for no discernable reason many hours later it springs into life and does a wash . Thought it had packed in totally yesterday as it was all set up to go for the whole day but nothing.... nada. Then.... just before I was going to switch it off at the wall and go to bed it started up so I had to sit up and wait for it to do a cycle and then hang it up. Have to take washing opportunities where we can :rotfl:. Anyway thats probably TMI - sorry and have now rung the repair guy who is coming tomorrow to look at it. Will see if its worth/ possible to repair.
Need to do a big shop today as fridge bare so list done and will even try to remember to take it with me. Got a friend coming to stay for the rest of the week. Spare room has been decluttered and cleaned and all the cardboard boxes etc that were in there have been folded up ready for recycling. Cat is of course resplendent on the spare room bed where he never normally lies - luckily friend is cat mad so won't mind.
Did some shredding yesterday too as loads of old bills around. Thats gone on the compost bin which needed a bit of dry material. Made a smoked sausage casserole for OH yesterday which will do a couple of meals and I had a strange concoction made from fridge bottom veg and smoked salmon which was slightly out of date. Still alive today though thats the main thing!
Very wet here and still quite dark and gloomy, not keen on days like this as it still gets dark so early. OH back to work today but I'm off this week as friend coming and I don't see her very often so don't want to be at work while shes here. Got some cash put aside for treats and outings so just hope it doesn't rain ALL the time.
Went to Embra on Sat to get some trousers with my Xmas voucher as current ones keep falling down :o:eek:. Pleased to note I've gone down two sizes so now have a couple of new pairs that fit properly .0 -
Can you get a repair tech out to the WM? It sounds like a dodgy connection, which may be able to be fixed for not too much money, and give you lots more washes before it needs replacing.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Hi Lois, the repair guy is coming round tomorrow between 11 - 3pm. Am hopeful its not a big repair but its an old machine, probably about 15 years old now so its done very well and has had a few repairs over the years.0

Sorry been AWOL as had a friend staying for a week and been working and doing my tax return since my friend went. We had a lovely time and the weather wasn't tooo bad so out and about quite a bit. Had a cinema and gallery trip and went to the seaside one day. Lots of coffee shop trips too and have had cheese scone withdrawal since
.
My achilles seems to be completely ok now so walking is finally pain free - hooray. I've been able to walk much further than I could since August and that seems to have encouraged a bit more weight loss which I wasn't expecting. Finally got the appointment through for a steroid injection in my heel so will need to cancel that.
Got some new work starting in the next few weeks which is great. Its a bit alarming to suddenly be quite a bit busier but I'll get used to it.
Freezing here the wind is really baltic but all the snow has melted now. Expect it'll be really icy in the morning though. I'll have to venture out at some point tomorrow to pay in a cheque and some money then back to do some more on the tax return .
Hope everyone is managing to keep warm x0 -

Update re washing machine; guy came and spent about 5 minutes mending the machine - well he wired a different button in to be the on/off button. Works very well and its great to be able to keep the washing pile down. Cost £50 which is a mega hourly rate but cheaper than a new one so alls well for the mo. :T0 -
Weird weather up here - had snow, ice, rain and today it was mild enough to hang a washing out but more rain forecast for tomorrow and its blowing a hoolie out there now
.
Had a busy week but managed to get my tax return done and sent in so thats a big relief. Got a busy week next week too so hoping for a chilled out sunday but keep thinking of stuff I need to do .
Made a big stew for OH today so hopefully that will be a few meals covered. We did a big shop yesterday in case we couldn't get out with the snow that never came! Took lots of stuff to the dump as well so theres more space in the shed. Also did OH's hair with the clippers as he was looking a bit cat weazelly so that saves a bit of money .
Got a good bargain in a charity shop near work the other day - lots of Kath Kitson toileteries for £3 in a nice bag. Can use some myself and some for pressies.
2 books sold on Amazon after a bit of a drought with sales so maybe its looking up.
Have a good week everyone  xx0 -

Thanks for dropping in QB Wolf, now go and get on with the tax returns :rotfl:. Seriously, good luck, I did Mr Teapot's today so both done and dusted . He just does a bit of freelance training sometimes on top of the PAYE job so it wasn't v complicated.
Mine was a bit depressing, been self employed since about 1995 and this was the first time I'm due a tax refund due to such low earnings. I know I lost quite a bit of work in 2011 but its a bit 'gulpy' to see the figures
