your posts are becoming more bizarre.

who made it illegal to sell things on ebay? you?

Hmm..don't think the poster was saying it was illegal, just tax free and, in their opinion, a bit sneaky (on account of the fact that many other forms of income are taxed). I refuse to judge anyone on this particular matter and, I have to say, if this wasn't all about a relatively cheap childrens toy at Christmas, I wouldn't really give a monkeys about any of it. Bearing in mind my previous posts it may all be a flash in the pan but....

(In danger of entering Pseuds Corner with a "But what about the children" comment...) I think there will be some children who are really looking forward to getting an Elmo this year who will be disappointed because their parents (who would normally be able to afford £35 out of their Christmas bonus) cannot afford to spend £50 now or £100 in December. I know the argument that says kids are spoiled and parents are just weak....but hey....it's a £35 childrens toy and Elmo at that (you haven't seen true devotion until you have seen a three year old Elmo disciple).

This is not an ethical judgment on anyone so please don't flame me back. It is merely a subject that I think is interesting.

I also agree that this thread does now belong elsewhere...mods ?
  • I've been reading this post since the start and have popped back and fore when i see it has a new posting hoping to hear a progress report or some news on how the sales (or not) of Elmo are doing and if anyone has or has not made any money.
Unfortunately that seems to be seldom mentioned on this thread as its become one about the morals of buying & selling goods, Can we please get back onto ELMO??

I want to know who's selling, where's selling, who's buying and where's he advertised??

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but c'mon please lets agree to disagree, live and let live and discuss Elmo!!

Thanks, no offence intended to anyone...

But this an open discussion fourm, no?

People seem to want to dictate what can and cannot be discussed as long as it follows their agenda.

No struggle to get an Elmo here in London.

It is a discussion forum but IF everyone decides to discuss what ever they want wherever they want we will have chaos!

So as far as I am concerned this thread is for the discussion of the toy ELMO TMX not the MORALS of buying and selling! - or starving kids in Africa

If you are so adamant to talk about that why don't you open a new thread in the Discussion Sub Board and state your views there?

There is already an ethics thread, perhaps take it there.

To summarise the position on Elmos, they are readily available in the shops for £34.99 and they are selling on eBay for anything between £25 and £75. Most eBay sellers appear to make a gross profit of around £10 before fees and expenses.
    Can I help?
