I didn't see any retailer push up the RRP on the XBox 360 last year

Sorry but thats wrong, Whislt they did not push up the RRP they made sure they only sold them with a bundle of games so maximising there sales. You could not buy a 360 without buying extra games and a 2nd joypad.

I hadn't heard of Elmo before I read this thread. My curiousity was piqued, and I went on to order 2, one for my dd, and one to sell. On reading further about availability etc, I ordered 2 more (awaiting despatch) from Woolies. I hope to sell 2 or 3, and hopefully make a decent profit. If I get a silly price from a buyer willing to pay that amount, it won't be money saving to turn it down would it? No one HAS to buy Elmo if they don't want to, I really fail to see what the fuss about making profit from a speculative investment is all about. Maybe it's because I'm from a background where I was raised to be thankful for whatever presents I received, whether or not they were the current 'in thing'.Thanks again to the OP, and I hope all speculators make some profit. There. I've had my say.

Don't say I didn't warn you what might happen, people. LOL. He/she is not going to change his/her mind and neither are you. Pointless getting 'involved' IMHO...There's been some brilliant info posted on here, let's not spoil the thread by taking it way off-topic.
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

I doubt anyone on this board heard anything about Elmo before this thread was created. If Fisher Price have been hyping this, they must have forgotten to inform anyone outside the U.S.

Elmo was mentioned in the Sunday Mirror, tipped to be the top toy for Christmas before the OP. It was a little article, which I spotted as my two LURVE Elmo!

  • Have been keeping an eye on stock at Argos in the local area:

    Ilford - OUT OF STOCK
    Romford - OUT OF STOCK
    Barking - OUT OF STOCK
East Ham - OUT OF STOCK
    Beckton - OUT OF STOCK
    Hornchurch - OUT OF STOCK
    Thamesmead - OUT OF STOCK
    Stratford - OUT OF STOCK
    Walthamstow - OUT OF STOCK

    Woolwich - IN STOCK

Most of these stores had stock in the morning and now they seem to be reducing in numbers, what about the argos in other areas?

With respect, my comment is not wrong. I said no retailer pushed the RRP.

HMV and Woolworths, two places I saw selling them, did not make anyone buy anything extra. I got mine in Woolworths in December when they were very rare. Full system, not Core and did not pay for anything else.

I don't see how this thread is bein spoilt or being taken off-topic. If there are rules on what we are allowed to discuss in this thread, please point them out. You seem to only want people to post the latest eBay prices. But this is a discussion board, no?

anyone else find argos chavvy? I always recall the Trisha episodes when the skinhead thung pulls out the elizabeth duke box, shows his chavette (16 and pregnant) the cubic zirconia ring and declares he loves her to bits.
