Birthday treat for 13 year old girl?

I want to make a special birthday treat for my daughter for her 13th birthday. She wants to invite three female friends. They enjoy all the usual things that 13 year olds enjoy. I don't really want a sleepover as all of her friends have had these and I am looking for something different. Although if I can get two rooms (one for myself!) on the next travelodge tennertastic deal I will go for this as it will give them something different.
I am a single parent and have a budget of around £40.
I live near Stirling in Scotland (for any geographically specific offers).

I've just noticed this
my daughter is 13 in April so I'll ask her for ideas when she comes home from school,
last year I dropped her and 2 pals off at the cinema and then they went for a pizza next door after, it was the 'being grown up' and going alone that they loved.I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. yep my eldest definately liked this type of thing.
swimming then pizza
last year (14), we gave her some money, which was enough for her and 4 friends to go pictures and then pizza, any more she had to fund.smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

If you can find a travelodge with a health club or swimming pool bit then it might make it quite special: staying overnight, maybe doing each other's hair and nails before going down for dinner (but that might put you over budget), and then swimming the next day after breakfast.
I've thought of that because years ago we were stranded by floodwater near a travelodge or similar - well we possibly could have kept going and I'm not quite sure how we got up their drive but I was just exhausted and terrified crawling along this endless river which had once been a road. Although we were a family of five my husband talked them into squeezing us all into one room, youngest was quite tiny so it wasn't a problem for us. Anyway there was the usual British "spirit of the blitz" throughout the place as we weren't the only ones stranded.
Next day after a mega breakfast (included in room price in those days) we realised there was a sauna and swimming pool so hubby went off for a sauna and the rest of us splashed around for an hour or so. It made it a very pleasant end to what had been a horrible journey home!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I had a word with daughter and she would still want the sleepover even if everyone else does it, they think it's great to stay up half the night after we have gone to bed, I get them girly luckybags from newlook etc full of nail stickers/polish makeup and things,
this year she just wants her best friend and they are going riding for the whole day and then we'll take them out for a mealI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. My daughter too still likes the sleep over, though I said last year was the last! Last one we had was at a friend's flat by the seaside. Dropped them at the swimming pool, did the food shop for pizza and chocolate fondue with fruit, then left them to it. Gave them a goodie bag each at the table with face mask, nail polish etc and they lay about during the evening watching a dvd and using the face masks.
Also included in the goodie bag was blow blubbles and the next morning they were all on the beach blowing bubbles like little kids
They then went paddling and eventually were swimming with all their clothes on, this I might add was in December.
At Christmas I got a voucher from a beauty shop for a mini manicure which she is looking forward to having. I think The Body Shop do free make up in the hope you will buy the products.0 -
Thanks for all the suggestions. I like the idea of dropping her off at the cinema with some money. One of the cinema complexes in a neighbouring town has a pizza hut on the same site. I could bring them back and do the goody bag bit with things bought from my advantage card.0

Look out in Boots for face pack sachets, also check out packs of bath bombs, bath confettii etc that are maybe in fours and can be split up giving them one each. I found Superdrug and similar cheap type chemists good for these.
I found Morrisons at Christmas had a really good range of eye shadow pallettes and lip glosses at 99p each, not sure if they still have them or not.
And remember to stick in some bubbles cos teenagers they might be but we are all kids at heart when it comes to bubbles!!
Another thought is I think FCUK stuff is still on buy 2 get 1 free and they have some nice small sprays and things. I think they were also selling the FCUK pink gift bags you could use as the goody bags or try looking on the xmas clearance shelves for gift bags. I got a load of plain gold gift bags from a shop that was closing and selling them for 10 for £1, great bargain!!0 -
For my daughters' 16th we took her and three friends to Thorpe Park. Sounds expensive as there were six adults to pay for, but I got a BOGOF on Kellogs corn flakes, so we only paid for three tickets, then when we got in, I had BOGOF coupons for Burger King as well! A really enjoyable day out, and not too expensive!I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
We are all off to Alton Towers for a night for my daughters 13th at the beginning of March - me, MrQ & 2 daughters.
Arrive Fri, spend evening in water park, bed, cooked brekkie, 4 hrs in park, rest of day in water park then home
I think it was £118 (how bad is that - I've forgotten!)
I think I'm more excited than my girls
She hasn't got any friends(*insert crying smilie here!*) so wanted to do something really special as a family
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -

this felt a bit like opting out at the time but it was what she wanted and after speaking to her again she says it's jus great doing it all by themselves and being grownup
