Unusual Ideas For Storage
Comments
-
our local instore had some a couple of weeks back - didn't check them for shoe size though:D
realised the other day my peg bag is actually a lego box (the one with a handle and a lid that looks like the top of a brick)0 -

I did the same when I lived with my parents. Regretted buying a bed with no storage space - even though the idea at the time was to make me keep less stuff!!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
One Christmas we were bought a posh bottle of port in a wooden box with a rope handle. It now sits on the windowsill in the bathroom with painkillers, plasters etc in it.
Also in the bathroom is a lovely basket that had a bottle of red wine & some cheese in it (also a Christmas gift) & it now sits on the edge of the bath full of shampoo, shower gel & stuff.
In the cupboard under the sink I have 2 drawers that I rescued from an old freezer filled with cleaning products & a large plastic tub that was full of wild bird treats full of my mixture of half own brand washing powder with half washing soda.0 -

I keep my ST's and Lilletts in an old Ferrero Rocher box! Much prefer the original contents!
I still have ancient baby formula tins for pens & pencils, too.
My daughters ipod sock is literally a sock - an old well-worn one!0 -

I'd suggest using old shoe boxes covered in a nice paper but if you're anything like me your old shoe boxes are already full to the brim with other things:D0 -
I was given a photo album (smaller than A5) and used it to store my recipes that I've cut out of magazines or written down from friends, I have four sections, starters, one pots (my favourite), mains and baking/sweets.
I used to keep them in a load of recipe books and it was always the last one I looked in.
Also keep my jars of spice in a large plastic tupperware tub, it's much easier to take the tub out and look through it at worktop level.:D0 -

No change there then!
The only thing I can think of is that I re-use biscuit/roses/celebration tins for the dogs' biscuits and I also have some for when I make cakes. I also have a tall tin that I got for storing Cadbury Flakes in. Its yellow with the flake logo on it. As I don't eat that much chocolate I use it to store my decaff tea bags in. The tea bags come in useless boxes so the air tight tin does the trick.0 -
I use an old toothbrush holder to store my make up brushes in.
What do you do with your ironing basket when its empty? Mine took up so much room that I decided to buy one of those collapsible plastic crates you can buy in Wilko. Now when the ironings all done it folds neatly away in a cupboard. Also useful for carrying dirty washing to the machine! It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.:kisses3:0
