There is plenty of info about 'flashing' K750i software to the Walkman W800i version with the standard USB lead that you get with the phone.

This site has an excellent step by step guide -

Thanks Savit It will be my first time of doing anything like this. At this point I am not even sure what 'Flashing' is...lol but I will be looking into it from the links you have given me

    Thanks

Savit have you done this to ure phone and did you pay to use the 'DaVinci INSTANT log accounts' programs ?

So 'Flashing' is updating the software on the phone to the same as the W800i.

I am still alittle unclear as to what the differences are between the software on the k750i and the w800i. Does anyone know ?

  • The main difference is that when turning the w800i on, you can choose to turn on the entire phone operation or music playback only ie a walkman. This enables you to use the phone as a music device on planes etc and also places less drain on the battery.

The w800i software also has more functional music software built in and allows you to arrange playlists and sort your music files easier.

Please note that by flashing your phone, you will invalidate any warranty.

  • i am afraid to tell you guys that it is only possible to flash the k750i 's firmware to the w800i 's firmware if you have an old k750i, as they upgraded the security in the k750i from cid36 to cid49 , and you can only flash a cid36 k750i to a w800i as the only ever released version of the w800i is cid36, and the cid numbers have to match.

i think its more than likely these will be the newer models (unless its old stock
) which is a big shame

  • also the flight mode of the w800i is a very desirable feature, as it turns off the internal antenna which means you can use this phone like an ipod and not worry about any harmfull radio waves from prolonged use
