The SE550i wasn't around for long - but I'm amazed they are worth so much! Both DD and I have one and we love them to pieces, they are an unusual design with lots of features.
The SE interface is very easy and intuitive to use. I now prefer it to the Nokia.

Tell me about it, it no sooner was launched than it was discontinued! It really is a great phone only let down by the non-expandable memory but like you 2 my son absolutely loves it to bits! He's had loads of phones and is normally hankering after a new one a few weeks into ownership of whatever he's got at the time but he's had this several months now and is not in the slightest bit interested in having another phone. Praise indeed :D Could SE have inadvertantly designed a 'classic' here? :D
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!
  • Thanks for this phone info. I was a bit miffed to see this tho', having just bought an identical one for my son's birthday and paid about £150+ at the Carphone W. Never mind, bought one for myself now - my old 'housebrick' mobile did need replacing and I liked the K750i having 'seen it in use' (by him)!

  • don't buy this phone !!! The joypad ceases to work after a very short time , and since its soldered to the circuit board , its an expensive replacement - search the internet for many examples / cases of this problem . I have one and so has my mate and we treated it well and it only last a few months before the joypad got sticky and ceased to work . Nightmare !!

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think O2 lock their phones to the network(unlike most of the other neworks) so you could buy this and then put in another networks sim card.

That would save you £20 unlock fee

    An even better deal!!

O2 do lock their phones and they stipulate that it should stay that way for the first year. I'm not sure if they'd find out if you did unlock it though.

Yes she is 14 and like most teenagers she doesn't have a mind of her own wants what all her friends have. I have the W800i so I know how this phone works and I am really happy with mine.
Now I will have to find some insurance in case it gets lost, stolen or broken etc,

the w800i, k750i and d750i have the same hardware, but different casing/ colours and different software

We have had this phone for a very long time and this problem has not happened  if it does just get it fixed through Sony Ericsson or place of purchase

I have the previous model to this phone the K500i (less memory, and no radio). No, my joypad has not stopped working, however sometimes it fails to move when i move the joypad around, and it can take several attempts to get it to respond. Ive had this phone for about 2 years now, however it has definelty got worse and less reponsive over time.
Hopefully this has been fixed in this model as it is a great phone otherwise, no other complaints to make.
  • Whereabouts on their website is this 20% discount for new customers advertised?

I can't seem to see it anywhere, although it is probably staring right back at me!

  • Sorry, my bad! It shows up when you view your shopping basket.

Just my twopence worth, I originally got this phone when it was 1st released. A cracking phone although there were some early teething problems with the bluetooth software. This seems to have been resolved now though.

I hope this phone is a good one as I have just ordered one....and I will look forward to trying to 'The more techno-savy of you may also wish to google how to turn your k750i into the £100 more expensive k800i walkman phone! !'

Has anyone done this and was it quite easy ? Also where is the best place to get the instructions from ? I am particularly interested in getting good MP3 facilities.
Would I be right in thinking I need to invest in a Sony Memory Stick to get a good capicity for MP3 files ? (I think I read u can use up to 4GB in the fone)
