    Hi

I am looking to travel from Newcastle int airport or Manchester on 8th Aug 06 to NYC. I would like to stay for 3/4 nights in a decent hotel close to tourist type areas. It is a surprise 30th birthday gift for my fiance and i have no clue where to start. I have looked at a couple of deals on the internet (lastminute.com etc) and the cheapest i have found is £1400ish staying in the Affinia Manhattan hotel. Also can anyone tell me approximatley how much spending money i will need for both of us?
Any help would be gratefully recieved!! Thanks in advance
    Tia.

Pity really as the reviews are fantastic http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g189414-d264741-Reviews-Hera_Village_Aparthotel-Agios_Nikolaos_Crete.html have a look at the pictures on trip advisor

You've really grabbed my attention with this one, could you help me find the best deal?

Ideally fly Sat 1st to Sat 8th July, but can change the departure to anything between 30th June and 8th July if this makes a difference.

Best airports are - Luton, Heathrow, Gatwick (or Stanstead/Birmingham at a push).

I've got about 4600 airmiles hanging around so might use these to help with the flights if the times are right.

Thanks for the mention of the Hera Village, I look forward to seeing which deals you can find.

    Best wishes

Money_Maker_Shaker...I am pretty sure the best deal was on wintersunshineholidays.com who as 5% discount on (or 8% if you have booked with them before) for a week early July
All Inclusive Studio Standard £461.00 total for 2 then any discount to come off that
Flights ...if you want to use your miles I think you still have to pay the tax so not sure it would be worth it for a short haul flight.
To give you an idea of the cost of normal flights not using your miles.
XL have one leaving Gatwick on 4th July for 7 nights for Total £307.00 for 2
    using DIVERS code.
There are other flights but that ones got the best flying times or same date from STN for 297
Sloppychops might find a better flight
the ones above have day time fligts all the rest I can find you get there at around 4.30am and leave around 6am
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

Just found it cheaper wtih https://www.holidayhotels.co.uk £255.25 in a studio same as above
Or One Bedroom Apartment (2-5) Sea View AI EBD (early booking discount)
    £275.62

Just had to double check seems a massive price difference but its right holidayhotels are offering a huge EBD if you want this place I would get in there quick

    Thanks.

I found it £6.88 (£268.74) for the same One Bed Apartment with https://www.otbeach.com - any preference between the 2 companies?

Even with the divers code on excel airlines I think I'm going to use my airmiles as the flights will only cost me £41.60 each for the taxes, as opposed to about £155 with excel. My airmiles have been sitting there for 2 years now so I might as well use them up.

So by my calculations thats 1 week at Hera Village Hotel with flights for £351.94 for 2 people! :D Even without using my airmiles it would only have been about £578.

Now just need to find decent car hire prices.

    Thank you so much saveapenny.

I was just about to post the same things for OT and the BA tax...lol...great minds think alike...I would go with the OT one for the hotel and try using your miles it would make a great cheap holiday.
Full price afre with BA is cheaper as well than XL at £ 239.20 for 2 I always forget to try BA so thanks for the reminder making the total without your miles to 507 BARGAIN!! , just thought I would add that for anyone else that likes the look of it

Could you help us with this please?

    Any London airport (except Stanstead)
    7 days
    27 to 29 Jan
    Prefer no night flights
2 adults (active seniors, like walking, trips etc!)
B&B with option for evening meal
Any quiet resort with all facilities within walking distance on Lanzarote
No max budget, we like good facilities a bit of luxury, but never been to Canaries before. Looking for somewhere nice for a bit of winter sun with some interest

    Cheers
