Hi Travelman and gang!!
Any advice before I make a terrible mistake and book something rubbish!!.....
1-All airports you can fly from - any London
2-Duration - 10 to 11 nights
3-1st & last dates to leave the UK - Sun 7th May 2006 (it's gotta be this day!!)
4-Are night flights acceptable ? - no thanks
5-Party size & kids ages - 2 adults (married couple)
6-Board basis - self catering
7-Type of resort, ie quiet, lively - nice and chilled, ideally fairly close to beach or scenery. Something like Thailand or Dominican Republic
8-Any resorts/countries you WOULD NOT go to - i am fairly open minded! Price is the deciding factor, but want something a bit exotic and 3-4 star!!
9-Any other neccesary factors, ie must have kids - would like beach, stuff going on, things to see & do
10-Prices required by what day/time? - 13 Jan
11-Max. budget - around £1200 (flights + hotel for 2 people - £600 each)
Any advice would be great!!! :beer:0 -

The description on travelocity for Pattaya is:
Thailand's liveliest holiday resort - commercial, loud and brash. Most hotels are situated at the far end of the resort away from the busy centre of downtown Pattay, which is exciting but not for the faint hearted! There is a long narrow beach which offers poor bathing. Beautiful beaches and an array of watersports can be found on nearby Coral
We're really not looking for something like Ibiza with p1ssed up Brits vomiting and stumbling around everywhere - can anyone confirm what Pattaya might be like as a destination and recommend a nicer side of Thailand to visit if it is TOO BRASH to a couple wanting a romantic break
thanks saveapenny, you are digging out some interesting stuff though0 -

Hi,
I was told pattaya wasn't the best idea if I wanted a quiet/romantic break! Hua Hin looks like a favourite, rainfall is apparantly less bad on the East coast of thailand in may - i'm gonna give myself a day to think about all this before booking, in the meantime can anyone comment on this quote? Does the hotel look good and flight prices seem reasonable, etc? (quoted from travelmood btw)

Thanks for that review, it does at least look decent.
I think I might go for that deal (I will sleep on it first!), I can change the outgoing flight for one that departs London at 1230 (Sunday the 7th) and lands in Bangkok at 0605 the following morning at no cost. - I think that might be better, I hate sitting around all day thinking I have to go to the airport later!0
