Just a note for the previous posters in this post.I booked a holiday earlier this year with Chris which my partner and I enjoyed very much to Tenerife in May.I found him to most helpful and very professional with his advice and booking etc.He can be sometimes a little hard to get hold of because he seems to be so busy but please be patient and I`m sure he`ll reply to everyone who mails him.I mailed him last Saturday to give me some ideas on prices for a holiday in September/October and got no reply at all but I knew that there must be some reason as to why not.I just noted that he has posted on here in the last hour so I mailed him again and got a reply within 3 minutes to acknowledge my mail explaining why he hadn`t replied and that he would be in touch soon with the details.

Just to mention when I booked my holiday with him earlier in the year I made the booking on a Sunday evening at 7.00pm (his day off) and to be honest I felt quite guilty about this because it was his day off though nothing was too much trouble for him and not once did he try and put any pressure on me to book anything as I tend to find sometimes in the High Street travel agents.

Copy of a reply I made on the thread below for the RYANAIR checker-8 nights, 3* all-inclusive for 2 adults & 2 kids (up to & inc 11, BUT a different supplier would do SAME Hotel with kids up to & inc 14 for an extra £120!), return PRIVATE taxi-£1019-12???!!!

Crazy prices.....remember low-cost airlines prices INCREASE the nearer you get & with demand-unlike charter flights that can be cheaper a day or so before departure!

Do remember when booking flts & accom. separately the deal is NOT a package Holiday so is not covered by ATOL, but if the accom. is booked through a reputable agent then you'll be covered in case the accom. supplier went bust, etc...but the flight is covered separately by the terms & conditions of the airline!

Just had a little 'nosey' (!)-flying from Liverpool to Gerona, 29/7 return 5/8 (8 nights)-2ad+2ch=£216-12 TOTAL flights, add on £803 (for a 3* all-inclusive in Santa Susana, kids up to & inc 11-price inludes return taxi transfer)-TOTAL for 8 nights a/i inc taxi-£1019-12 !!!!!!!

Some serious bargains to be had by those 'canny' enough to combine low cost airlines with accomodation separately!

Firstly to say my areas of expertise are lastminute deals,
family all-inclusives...peak season deals,
short-haul Med/Canaries/Greece, short haul flight only, & long-haul Mexico & Dominican Republic (as seen on Ant & Dec recently..raining!).

For long-haul flight only, other long-haul destinations, UK, etc....I'm certainly no expert BUT as wehave other Travel 'bods' on this site (Such as Travel Councellor) I'm sure for destinations not- listed above other MSE experts can help you.

If any MSE 'posters' require quotes/help from me can you please include the following information to allow us to find you the best 'moneysaving' deal!

1-All airports you can fly from
2-Duration
3-1st & last dates to leave the UK
4-Are night flights acceptable ? (Big point as night flights usually cheaper!)
5-party size & kids ages
6-Board basis you require (ie self-catering, all-inclusive, h/b, bb...etc)
7-Type of resort, ie quiet, lively
8-Any resorts you WOULD NOT go to
9-Any other neccesary factors, ie must have kids club, pool, be within 'x' metres from sea...etc
10-Max. budget!!! Now I know there is a preconceived idea that if you say maximum £1000 we'll quote £999-99-NOT the case! It just saves us all time, for example if you were looking at peak Season or Whitsun for £125 pp it's a non-starter. Just 'as cheap as posssible' is not a help I'm afraid.

Pete-can do the JOHN MARY Apartments in a 1 bedroomed unit on 20/8, Glasgow, for £289pp. The resort is called GOUVES, you are approx. 10/15 mins walk from the resort centre (some shops/bars within 5 mins) but only a minute or so from the beach.

Air-con (a rarity in Greece!) is available-payable locally (I'd guess approx. £3 a day per unit) & you have a pool.

Gouves is a friendly, bustling village-lots to do but not rowdy! Very easy access to other beaches/resorts in Crete as the coastal highway has a fantastic, inexpensive bur service.

The flight goes at 1820 from Glasgow & return lands at 0430 on 4/9. transfers/flight meals inc-no other extras to pay at all-no credit card charges.

I think you'll find these ideal-quiet, yet close to amenities/beach. I used to Rep in Crete & Gouves is always where I'd eat!!!!
