Can't get on to the Thomson website as I'm in work and it's very very slow but I think it was approx £1060 in the Riviera and £1360 in the Ambasciatori. Will check when I get home though.

Its ok i checked.
The Ambasciatori has better reviews and looks lovely.Tried to DIY it for you but cant get it any cheaper than Thomson.

We would like to get away for 14 nights from 12th Nov 2006 (+-1 week or so),

We would prefer Egypt or Fuerteventura (or anywhere else hot in Nov),
we would like 4* or 5* HB or AI for 2 adults and a 15 yr old.
Our budget is up to max total £1200, but we would prefer the cheapest deal possible ;-)

sabbykins..try https://www.destinationholidays.co.uk or https://www.travelreublic.co.uk found loads on them select the 13th to Sharm 15yr old will count as adult so select 3 adults flight is with Thomas Cook at £492 + hotel
The 4* Sol Sharm is £741 for all 3
Total £1233
4* SOL Y MAR SHARMIN INN 4* AI is £492 for the flight and £573 for the hotel
Total £1065

It will be harder to get 4-5* AI in the canaries for your budget there is a flight leaving 12th from Glasgow to Lanzarote but your looking at £552 just for the flight ..You could get a good 3*HB with in budget
There is also a Tenerife flight on teh 14th but again flight only is £516 and a good 4* hotel on HB is going to be about 900 for 2 weeks + your flights
