    Mr Travelman, please dis-regard this post, I have at last found a really sensible and helpful gentleman in British Airways and have done an all in deal, Mcr to London, London to Bangkok (stopover) Bangkok to Sydney, (stopover) organise my own return flight Sydney to Brisbane then after a couple of weeks there, back to Sydney and home via Singapore and London to Manchester, wow I had enough BA miles to pay for it (100,000) except the taxes which are just £172.00.

    Regards, Chris.

    Hi Mr Travelman, please can you kindly advise on the following;

    I am looking to book a trip to Australia leaving around the 5th to 8th September and returning around the 28th September to 1st October, ideally I am looking for just 1 seat in business class. My preferred departure airport is Manchester but I can go from Heathrow by using an Air Miles flight from Manchester which would cost £48.00 in taxes and allow a connection with a Royal Brunei flight.

    I would like to stop over on the way out for 4 or 5 days and am not really fussed as to where although Singapore and Hong Kong look good.

    I have checked around and Travel Mood are offering a Royal Brunei flight at £1995.00 including taxes with no credit card charge, stopover in Brunei on the way out for 3 or 4 days and the option of 2 or 3 days stopover in Dubai on the return. Also included is use of airport lounges.The same deal is available for £1940.00 including taxes on another site, (I will need to check out the name again.) Airport pick up is not included. The Emirates business class flights from Manchester all appear to be around the £2340.00 mark and I just might reluctantly have to consider economy+ or premium class using this airline.

    Night flights are no problem and dates in September/early October are flexible.

    I am undecided as to whether Brunei would be an interesting place to visit and would appreciate any info on this and the quality and value of hotels and visa requirements.

    If I decide to go Emirates I may have to miss out on the Dubai stopover owing to the extra flight and hotel costs, unless I travel in a lower price cabin.

    Price is important to me as I am stretching the budget to go business class but as I have been ill recently the extra space and comfort is also important to me. (No doubt the travel insurance people will have a field day with pre existing medical conditions!)

    Having said all of that, my ideal was to book a BA ticket and use my BA Miles to upgrade to business but it was just a lot of messing about as they dont fly to Brisbane and I would have to fly Quantas economy plus for part of the journey, there were only a couple of available dates left and on top of all that........they never came back to me with a firm quote.

    Many thanks for any help which will be gratefully received.

    Chris.
  • Hi, been waiting for my lad's passport to arrive (he didn't want to come with us last year when we renewed everyones!) and now ready to ask for help looking for that great deal.

    6. Board - Self catering
    7. Resort - pref Corralejo

    9. Other factors - 3* pref, few mins walk to main street / restaurants
    10. Price req by - looking to book anytime now

    Thanks all.

    Hi
    I'm planning on watching the Cricket world Cup in Barbados Next spring.
    I've applied for tickets for the Matches on the 11th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th & 21st of April.
    I will find out if I've been successful in September.

    In the mean time I need to find a 2 week(ish) holiday in Barbados for two people.

    Ideally flying from a London airport, thou any south of Birmingham will do, on the 9th April and returning on the 23rd.
    But will settle for the 7th, 8th or 10th going out, and the 22nd, or 24th onwards coming back.

    Budget = £3000 for AI, or £2000 s/c

    Any resort / hotel on the west coast or south coast, prefer somewhere quieter.

    TIA

    Horizon
