Hi Save a penny,

These are exactly the sort of things i was looking for, the only worry i have is there might not be much to do apart from eat/drink and sunbathe at the places?

Perfect holiday for most i know, but being quite fair there is only so long i can spend in the sun so would be eating all the time and might well need 2 seats on the flight home!!

Been to Cancun and Jamaica before but not with my girlfriend (best mate was a trolley dolley so went on standby flights £70!!) and favourite parts were going to chechen itza etc

Which do you think is best for sight seeing and getting out and about? (would this automatically rule out AI hols as a good value?)

Not sure if AI would be good value but when its not much more for all your drink at night it might be worth already having paid for it...or personaly I would go for the 4* BB or the Neptune

Hi Saveapenny, thanks for those, will look more in depth tomorrow... We have found some deals for 2 weeks 3*+ AI Dominican Republic at £900 total... Is that a good offer in your experience? Also, after speaking to my boss I can extend the dates from 2nd June onwards if that helps for cheaper prices. We would like AI if possible...

Little miss 3* in Dom Rep I wouldnt touch you need 4* min
Riu Bachata was coming up on a good deal at around 1100 Riu are good quality hotels in Dom Rep you cant be too carefull there are some realy dodgy places

I would consider traveling upto manchester for those Sri Lanka deals the Neptune or the 4*BB they both get excellent reviews and like I said usualy sell for in excess of 1000+pp so they are really good deals

Guys, im despereate. Can only travel on the 19th may. Looking for a week, anwyehre sunny and cheap for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant from either manchester or liverpool.

Best i had found was cap salou for 480 total sc. But i went to book it today and its now gone from the thomas cook site. Any help please realy apreciated

That offer was with bookable holidays and had a quote of £340 with ezy travel. I decided not to go for it as both the hotels i was offered had quite bad reviews (unsuprisingly!). I've decided I like the look of the hotel Amar Sina which is a 3* so i hope that will help us reduce costs.
I'm now looking at maybe booking flights and the hotel myself using olympic and that travelrepublic site you mentioned (I've heard rumours of a 5% discount code lurking about).
Anyway, I'm going to look seriously again in a weeks time as I have a few companies which say the price should be within my budget then!
