    I canonly find it for the same price as you have been quote but I did come across the Sofitel Karnak 4* on HB fro 20pp more that was with DirectHolidays

    12 nights in Cairo in August will be too much temps often touch 50c

    we had 2 days in Cairo in April and it was hot then

    The plan if taking flights would be to join a guided tour that begins and ends in Cairo, but takes in (cooler!) other places en route... but thanks for the advice though!!!
