Samsung Galaxy S deal

I'm very interested in getting the samsung galaxy s. the best offer i can find online is mobiles.co.uk (sorry)

Galaxy s 8gb, 300 mins, unlimited texts. 500mb internet on orange - £25 per month, with 6 months free (redemption) and £50 cashback with topcashback.

i'm currently with 3, who have now offered me a free galaxy s 16gb, 500 mins, unlimited texts and 1gb of internet for £25 per month.

I've told them if they make that £20 per month i'll stay with them. have i any chance? Both 24 month contracts.

I would say you have, they seem to be handing out the desire on the 900 texter plan for £20 a month, just keep phoning them untill you find somebody that says yes

As I noted in another thread, I picked one up yesterday and it's definitely locked to O2. I guess it's a chance you take!
  • That's not a proper 16gb galaxy....the 16gb galaxy is a vodafone exclusive. I'm guessing they'll send you an 8gb galaxy with an 8gb micro sd card thrown in for good measure.

I'd say your deal with 3 is probably better (if you're happy with the network). I've gone with the deal on mobiles with the topcashback and it should be arriving Monday (even though I ordered it at 1530 on Thursday), so it'll be interesting to see how I fare with the cashback side of things.

At least if you stick with 3 you won't have to deal with a potentially dodgy (well, dodgyer) company

    I got a 24m t-mobile deal from buymobilephones.net at £25 pm.

    http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/Samsung/Samsung-i9000-Galaxy-S-Free-Line-Rental-Discount/T-Mobile/T-Mobile-25-(24mths)-inc.-Internet/6068724

Even without the redemption it seems pretty good to me (cheaper than I could get directly from T-mobile). Delivery from buymobilephones was quick, Im, just kicking myself that I didn't remember to go through Topcashback. :(

Hi, i called up 3 to cancel to switch to T-Mobile and asked for my pac.

This was four days ago, i've since had some calls offering me

    Free Samsung Galaxy S

    500 x-net min
    5000 texts
    5000 3 to 3 mins
    1GB
    24 month contract
    £25 per month

    or

    Free Samsung Galaxy S
500 mix and match x-net units (texts or mins)
    300 3 to 3 mins
    2GB
    24 month phone warranty
    18 month contract
    £28 per month

or £25 per month if i only want 300 mix and match units.

Obviously the 24 month is a good deal but i really dont want a 24 month contract as i've only ever had 12.

    Orange Dolphin are doing a deal for 18 months;

    Free Galaxy S
    500 mins
    Unlimited txts
    500mb
    £27.50 per month.

My wife's on 3 pay as you go so staying with three would be better for me, but just asking anyones advice or opinions.

1st offer was from retentions but other call have come from 3 Outbound Team (asian guy) and he says it would normally be £43 but their doing it for £28 and assures me they won't better it.

I've got my PAC code and about 20 days left before cancellation happens,

should i say no and wait for a better offer or do you think thats their best?

I've heard some people getting called from English call centres with good deals.... is this true?

    Many thanks, Matt

unless your a big spender they will not come back with a better offer. I was offered similar to your 18 month deal and spoke to UK call rep and he was adamant that that is best they could do for me and I had already requested my PAC I wanted it for £25 a month but they didn't budge and I ended up moving to T-Mobile for £25 a month and an unbranded/unlocked Galaxy S without T-Mobile bloatware on it but that is because I purchased from a retailer.

From 3 you may get the 16GB version (I was offered it) but they will have their own software on it and it will be locked to 3.

You need to decide how long you want the contract for and how much of difference a month it works out for you. Also whether the signal in your area is better with 3 or another provider/T-Mobile as my signal with 3 was slightly better in the areas I travel to but its not significacantly worse with T-Mobile that it is a deal breaker. Also the CS from T-Mobile has been excellent so far I have called them once and they even rang back after couple of days to check if everything was o.k.

So overall I am fairly happy I moved from 3.
