Has anyone seen anything on Facebook today? I'm at work so can't check the relevant pages but interested to see if things have degenerated any further - if that's possible.Elizabeth Cook Please note previous comments particularly your last post. I'm the one being attacked by you, because I've dared to disagree with you and repeatedly (almost 2 wks now) requested factual information and timeline. Which would allow me to make an informed decision as to continue supporting this group or leave.

Elizabeth Cook Good morning I presume it's Jeremy, thank you however, sorry but I have heard that a few times. Plus I waited up last night for the information which did not appear.
Hope your meeting goes well. x

I'm amazed how people seem to be so sensitive on fb, haven't they had a good argument before.0 -
Just spoke to Mike Weatherley's office and apparently he is having a meeting with the landlord this afternoon, but it is a private appointment, not a public event as advertised on the facebook page. They were a bit surprised that it had been advertised as such.
I'm sure it's been posted before but have a feeling it was on the old thread, so in case anyone wants to email him ahead of the meeting, his email address is mike.weatherley.mp@parliament.uk. Probably a bit late now, mind.0 -

Well there we go then! Expect a full change of the law by 4pm. NOT.BCSC # 9 and proud! :beer:0 -

It's annoying me this is being billed as a "meeting" and thus givig it more importance than it deserves - it's an MP's surgery, anyone in his constituency can turn up and tell him their problems, it's his job to listen and that's all.0 -
Ok - wow, how do you know this? Was there something I haven't read!?!
It's the power of google and too much time on my hands and general nosiness - her daughter has a Facebook page with a link to a local college as a 'friend' and a photography portfolio online that contains piccies of her mum. In the original thread that's been deleted, I suggested the daughter could do a piece on rogue landlords or 'pro' tenants.....
I also thought I found a Google profile for the tenant searching for love - "a passionate lover ...I know how to spice up a relationship" and describing herself as "classy" but you know what t'interweb is like, so who knows.
There's also the fact that the tenant has lived, for at least part of the time, in that area since 2002, due to the records on 192.com for the period of 2002 to about 2004 but presumably been out of the area, or off the electoral register, or has a new name, as she's not popped up again in the listings in the recent past.0 -
I have a theory...
I think that Suzy Butler is unable to produce any documents or back up any of her assertions with documented evidence (which is why she is confused, she has nothing to refer to) as she has sent all her paper and 'being a great landlord lolz' books to peru to be mushed up into pulp and used to build bridges/houses/schools/hospitals/medicine etc.
So whilst we sit here moaning about justice and following the law, think about all those people who are going over tenancy pulp bridge at the moment to get to their local peruvian tesco metro.
True sacrifices from that woman.
I know a case where this occurred. It dragged on for 10 months. The landlord's legal representative went to court a few times, but the court/judge kept allowing the tenant (and family) to remain in the property, because the landlord couldn't provide any of the paperwork about the tenancy. Well not enough to prove it. There were just little bits and pieces on information to go on.
The tenant (who had lived in the home for a substantial length of time) disputed the landlord's account about the tenancy.
In instances like this, although "common-sense" would say it's unfair on the landlord (get that now unemployed squatter out), it's only an asset worth many tens/hundreds of thousands of pounds you're allowing someone to use as a home, and willing to accept significant payment for.
Landlords should take great care in having all the relevant paperwork filed. It's not enough to begin crying about the unfairness of it, and delays by the court, when the landlord has contributed to such a situation where delays are more likely. The paperwork did eventually turn up (stored at the Landlord's relatives house on other side of the country) and the landlord got the property back, the lawful way. The delays and costs the landlord incurred were part of the risk of the business in letting property, further increased by the landlord's own mistakes.0 -

I don't know - I got the impression that it was a pre-arranged meeting rather than just his regular surgery. I did ask if it was a public meeting and I would've thought they'd have said, 'no but he is having a surgery' if that was the case. Then again, as they've no doubt been inundated with emails about this (Nearly Legal posted his contact details too) if it is a surgery they're probably dreading today and not proactively promoting it...
Maybe it's because I said I was not a Hove resident. Perhaps if we have any 'Hove residents' on here they could call up and enquire if there is a surgery this afternoon.0 -

I've had meetings with local MPs in the past and you ring up, find out when they're doing a surgery, arrange a time and turn up. Bit like an appointment with the doctor. I doubt this is anything different.0 -
This is possibly the first time I've ever felt sorry for an MP, lol.0
