Hmm... an MP from the milk snatchers' party trying to get free milk from the taxpayer. Shameless.

Yep, he was on the TV news having a good old moan. It's strange how many employees have to pay up for tea/coffee whilst at work and yet MPs think we should foot the bills for theirs/that of their staff.

Wonder if he feels an EDM or a petition coming on?

Stupid gullible clueless Mike Weatherley is at it again.

Hove MP calls for end to 'squatter rights'

Roped into a false tenant is a squatter story, you would have thought he'd know better by now. rolleyes.gif

    He'll never learn.
  • I do wish Mike Weatherley and his fellow campaigners wouldn't keep mixing up tenants and squatters, he isn't daft so he must know the difference. I begin to think it's a deliberate ploy to get publicity as squatters are more newsworthy. Whatever the reason it's not doing him any favours, it makes him look as if he hasn't done his research or doesn't care. That may make headlines easier but I hope it doesn't sway any legislation.

Cool, we can be like Dubai, where anyone who misses a mortgage or other loan payment gets thrown in jail.

Meanwhile Suzi's FB page is supporting another amateur LL who has a non-paying tenant in situ ( Jezza is backing too) and they are asking for Mike Weatherley's support see here for more info

Ts should of course pay the rent , as defined in their tenancy agreement.

However, reports suggest that this amateur LL knew that one of the Ts had failed the referencing process and yet still went ahead with the let, having failed to sell the property over the preceding 18 month period .

In the usual style it's being presented as " x made homeless by tenant" link

Seems far more sympathy-inducing than "property owner prices property too high, can't sell and fails to (a) make adequate checks before renting the property out (b) have an adequate contingency fund in place (c) know how to deal with non payers or (d) know when to seek help from Lender"

Apparently, one of the T's worked as a housing officer somewhere....you couldn't make it up...... and LL appears to have been amazed , having allegedly sent friends round to try to collect some of the outstanding rent, to be told by the Ts that they wouldn't be going anywhere without a Court Order

Suzy and her mates still don't seem to understand the legal difference between a T and a squatter -

    from source
"we have another nightmare scenario where a homeowner is living on friends sofa's because her 'tenants' have paid no rent and have destroyed her possessions and property, and refuse to move out! the battle is far from over until these squatters are no longer allowed to behave in this appalling manner and are brought to account for their behaviour!"

How the hell has she been made homeless? She should carry on living where she was living when she was 'forced' to rent because it wouldn't sell. I've another few facebooks since the last trip to the page so might have get them signed up. Can't see an explanation forthcoming though.
