Although you seem to be handling Wonga admirably, could I suggest you point out to them that your offer to them is proportional to the debt you owe them and that to offer any more, were it even possible, would put other creditors at a disadvantage. Would they please, therefore, reconsider their position.
Hiya
Thanks, tbh Wonga are the least of my worries. Worst case scenario is they will apply interest to my account for 60 days, fob it off to a DCA and my offer to them would be no different.
As to the above sentence this has been stated to them on at least 4 seperate occasions
Wonga keep ignoring this though (for the moment).

Hi All
Arrived home this evening and checked email and Wonga have agreed to my payment plan!!
:j:j:j:j:j
It has taken sending 2 emails a day to every email address I can find for Wonga but it would seem that persistence has paid off.
I guess to be a little fair I had to actually default on the agreement so in reality has only taken 9 days (with interest being added of course).
However they have agreed to freeze further interest and charges too so obviously I am happy with that.
To all those battling with Wonga I suspect that they are overwhelmed with people struggling (comes with the industry they are in really) so I would recommend really getting in their face, show some willingness to pay (I made a token payment to the bank details they gave me) and to prove you are genuinely in real hardship
I think what finally nailed it was when I was given the email address of Wongas CEO (Errol Damelin) and I cc'd him into my last couple of emails. Seemed to have done the trick
Thanks for all your support everyone. Only AMEX and their lapdogs AIC to tackle now........

What a great thread. I was directed here by Hannah_10 (?) and thanks again for that. This is an inspirational story and there are so many points in in that I can connect to. Well done for describing things so eloquently. Well done and thanks again.0

thank you for posting your story - its made me feel 'less scared' of what i'm going to be facing.
i haven't missed any payments at the moment - gawd knows how - and my biggest fear is the constant phone calls and harassment that will ensue when i offer a token payment to my creditors or file for bankruptcy.
you're one brave and inspirational person! thanks:T0 -
Hi All
Just a quick update on this and also a WARNING that you can never let your guard down.
Had an email from Wonga yesterday stating that they had tried to take a payment for the full amount (the balance of which had also increased by almost £100) and are 'disappointed' that the payment was declined by my bank (what a surprise!)
I have emailed their collections department who have put everything back as per the agreement but for anyone setting up payment plans with these companies BEWARE! Even with an agreement in place and confirmed if they had possession of my new bank details my account would now be wiped.

Seems you might be sensible to confirm the contents of any emails by letter - confirm understandings on both sides.
Edit
Sounds like a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing at Wonga.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I'm on a DMP with CCCS and one of the PayDay Loan companys tried to take an extra payment from my old account. Because that failed (as its been shut since June)they have now reffered me to Mackenzie Hall.
I don't get these guys, i'm paying them and then they go and employ/pay a debt collector to collect exactly the same amount!I'm Debt Free :j 2/09/2013
