Hi All
Again thanks for all the support it makes a massive difference! Read through my post and noticed all the typos and spelling mistakes!
Great suggestion about the signature. I've done that as I'm now allowed to post links!
Hopefully I'll hear back from some more of my creditors this week so I'll keep you posted.

What a brilliant insight, to the whole picture of being in debt. I had to hide our debts from family, parents would been horrified, we felt so ashamed. It has been going on for seven years, we are near the end of our DMP, the light is brighting up at the end of the tunnel.
Now my parents have passed away in last two years 2008-09, within ten months ago; where ever they are l am sure they would understand.
One thing it has taught me, to be in control, of all bills... Also do your research, we got two creditors, to cancel debts to the tune of £1403.00, by getting them to respond to a CCA;
quote "
Your creditors will most likely threaten you with court action but if you have been reasonable, realistic and honest in your proposal and your creditors have taken things that far then a judge is not going to look favourably on them and will likely only award them what you offered and possibly less.
Your creditors know this, what they rely on is you not knowing this!!
Knowledge really is power when it comes to dealing with your creditors. They hate forums like this one as they can't divide and conquer and play on our ignorance of the law and our rights. Most of the threats are exactly that - threats."unquote
How true this statement is, also this quote"Again knowledge is power!
Finally remember this - the majority of your creditors do not have your best interests at heart and are only going to look out for themselves. Don't let them get at you, the majority have no moral high ground to be beating you from, they themselves were grovelling for handouts from the government only 18 months ago!
Don't be afraid of that first step - I know its tough but once you've taken it life really does start to have some meaning again!" unquote
Your message should be a sticky xx for all new and old forum members to think about, best of luck now and the future ty so much for the courage and speaking from your heart..0 -

To everyone thats responded a big thank you for all the kind messages and support since I had my LBM and then made that first post.
If just 1% of those that have viewed my post have taken heart and taken that first step getting debt free then that is a massive result!

hi, just wanted to say that i think what you have written will help alot of people. i know it has really hepled me. my partner and i are going down the iva route, have struggled for years with debt and only now that its at it peak we are doing something about it, but its so scary. i started today by getting all my debts out, we are about £33,000 in debt and honestly don't know how we having been keeping our payments up till now. its the whole guilt thing and feeling like a failure, i feel so stupid, foolish and greedy. credit is so easy to get, all these buy now pay laters, then you take a wee bit more on then the later comes and you haven't put the money away and so the interest is added on, just such a nightmare. im really kicking myself, and as for my credit rating to be honest i will be glad its ruined because i never want to be in this situation again. its only now we have our wee 3yr old that i realise how bad it is, thinking of his future, not being able to save for him, worrying when school trips would come around, not being able to pay for him to join classes to learn new things and then i kick myself again as its my fault i will not really be able to afford these things, not unless i go down the iva route and it hopefully will allow me to have a little bit for these things. well the credit cards have been cut up today, getting new bank accounts sorted then going for my iva, just hope it get accepted because i don't now where i will go if its not.
anyway just wanted to say thanks for your post, it helps when you feel alone to read things like this, good luck for the future :T0 -
Hi All
Well I got home last night to a letter from creditor 3 (I am going to keep my creditors anonymous for the moment but once I have almost all agreed I will post in my signature)
They have agreed the monthly amount in my payment plan but have not agreed to freeze interest or charges.
Another result in terms of relieving pressure short term but need to plug away at them a little on getting the interest frozen as otherwise it is not going to help me in the long term.
