Rightmove 1/4 mile property/STC Friday Fun.

Ok thought I would do this as I was surprised to see two houses near me that where up for sale sold in the last few weeks
Should be interesting as one was purchased in 2007 around peak and the other mid 2009 about 12 months after the builder had a fire sale so should give some idea how well (or unwell) our area is standing up. (anyway)

So 1/4 from my.
3 Houses for sale
2 houses STC.

Not that this will mean that much but we can all have a good fight about something before the next lot of housing stats come out.

How long do they leave SSTC houses up on rightmove for? I keep a vague eye on the property market around us and it's basically made up of:

• Houses that have been on for ages, just sitting there at the same price with no one buying them.
• The rare house that comes on at around 10-20% cheaper than the houses above and gets sold within days.
• The rare house that sells when people actually realise that just leaving your house on the market for 2 years at the same price won't actually sell your house and they reduce the price.

Thought it would remind us of the old days.

I would say STC stays up for around 3 months, (there are a couple on the way home that are STC and they are still on and it must be 2-3 moths now since they were sold STC)

I'm quite surprised to be honest, though saying that anything half way decent goes pretty quickly.

Next door was up for sale as "needs updating" and sold within 3 weeks.

I did notice when going to a friend's a couple of houses go up for sale recently and they were sold within days.
