Damn it i was planning on listing loads of stuff this weekend but there will be so much rubbish listed - maybe i will turbo list it ready for the next weekend! Annoy tho as ive just spent all morning doing my pictures

I haven't got one on either of my two Private accounts, one I have a few things listed, the other I haven't listed on for a while. Sod's Law!! could have done with a free listing weekend to get me motivated to get Personal stuff listed.

Hello all - I thought I would let you all know that (admittedly) I felt a little frustratred at not having received an e-mail from ebay, so I contacted them. I was told that free listing will be from 21 August to 26 August and if you are a private seller, you will qualify. I am not too sure why they decided to stagger ... So for all of you disappointed ebay sellers, hold tight, your time should come before 26th August :-)

Ah, the famous tell them anything to get them off the line tactics.

This was posted on the community boards but the story there was it does only apply if you get the email first, and the dates of 21-26 are the dates on which ebay plan to send the invites out regarding the free listing which ends on the 22nd.

Hmm, anyone else see the flaw with ebays nonsensical answer here.

I have a message in my Ebay Inbox about free listings auction style for 3 weeks until 7th September. I rarely sell on ebay, thank you for posting this, otherwise I would not see this message!

Ha ha just checked my emails, I've been invited to an exclusive travel club. I can receive up to 70% off, well, travel I guess.

To those peeps who did not get it, you may not be too worse off...

From what I read during the last free listing, eBay was swamped with auctions, it was more difficult to sell and items were going for lower prices.

From what I read during the last free listing, eBay was swamped with 99p auctions, more difficult to sell and items going for lower prices.

It would surely be a daft seller who listed 99p items during a free listing weekend. They still count against the 100 free ones a month so sellers might as well list at a £1 .

I have received one on my personal account stating 21-22 Aug....

But OH has just received one on his personal account stating 22-23 Aug

Could they be staggering it so that the site is flooded with stuff over a longer period and not just one weekend??

Just checked and got one for Sunday and Monday, shame though as my camera lead got left behind in the Carava when we were away, will have to see if I can find another one in the shops.
