Course we follow - there is just not a lot to talk about unless it is the 1st Thursday of the month. I bet no-one really minds being wrong in this challenge.0

You're right michelle! I'll happily be proved wrong
For another year and a half would be ideal. By that time, I should be mortgage free and loving life even more than I do currently with the pressure off.

Newbie as well please!
I'll go for rates to be 0.75 in Feb 2012 followed by 1.00 by the end of 2012.

Yep, Im more than happy to have had my name crossed off on this one :j
Im now going to agree with originalmiscellany - up 0.5% Jan120 -
Of course we follow FB. Your posts are well written, thoughtful and informative without being boring and lifeless. I'd go so far as to say you're one of my MFW-gurus. I've often scurried away and thought 'oh I'm going to do that with my figures'.
Please put me down for October 2011, rise to 1%. COMPLETE speculation with a lump of optimism stirred in. Which is a contrast to my Mortgage spreadsheet where I have 0.25% increases starting as from next month and occuring every couple of months until the rate hits 10%........just to be on the safe side. I have a small mortgage so am fairly comfortable seeing the consequences of this on a spreadsheet and it's a comfort to know that (largely due to OP'ing) I can afford my Standard Repayments even if BOE goes up to 10%.
You're probably right....I need to get out more.0 -
I will join in with a prediction of Feb 2012 a raise of .25 then possibly july upto 1%.0

I think it will be interesting to see how the new member has voted. I'm guessing that with the ECB about to raise rates next month then the BoE will follow suit sooner rather than later. I'm guessing October will see a 0.5% rise, steadily increasing to 2% by the end of 2012.
But then again I would have thought they would have gone up by now. I feel sorry for the people with savings.Mortgage Free Date
