Slight correction to my post of 24 August. My other half informs me the cost at Tullyglass was in fact £17, not £19 as I originally stated.0

You were'nt by any chance in a large party? I ask because just about everytime im in they always seem to sit large parties by that big wooden door. And i do agree if you get seated there is can be a tad chilly.
If you were in a smaller party then i would have asked to move. Last time i was there with my grandfather who cant walk very far and they wanted to seat us quite far back, but a polite word and they seated us right up near the front without any fuss.
Nope just the two of us and we did ask to get moved but were politely told that they were full and had no where else to seat us. It really didn't help that the food we ate that evening wasn't the hottest to start with and then it was stone cold on our plates after a few minutes. Oh and I found suspect bits in one of my food items and returned the plate. No apology or anything, I don't even want to think what the bits were.
Mind you, after that my work got a contract for supplying Tullyglass with services and I was part of the installation team. Lets just say the kitchens, food storage and crockery areas leave a heck of a lot to be desired :eek::eek:0 -
Brilliant!. That's not what I wanted or indeed expected to hear. As my luck would have it I am taking my Dad and family there tomorrow for the carvery lunch. How long ago was it since this happened if you don't mind me asking? Can't make up my mind now whether to go or cancel.0

I had a good one years ago in the Canal Court Hotel in Newry. Not sure what it's like now - anyone been there recently?
My parents went recently and although they said the food was pretty good, they weren't impressed by the small portions. All the food was served out onto their plates and the slices of roast were wafer thin.
I thought the whole idea of a carvery was about self-service, eat as much as you like? That's not the case in Canal Court.0 -
