What would you do?

I'm selling my old car on ebay. I put it on for a buy it now price of £800 & also make an offer option.

A buyer has contacted me with an offer of £650 & I'm unsure of whether to accept it or not. The listing sill has about 8 days left.

However, any buyer would have to wait until I got confirmation from the DVLA that I could put the personal reg plates on my new car & return the car I'm selling to the orignal reg.

The guy who has put the offer in has said he would wait as long as I didn't plan to sell the car to anyone else.

Would you take his offer or hang fire & see if a better offer comes in?

He has put his offer in via ebay. i just don't know whether to accept it, or wait, or even ask him to up his offer.

Really should have transfered the reg before putting it up for sale, but hey ho, too late now.

I presume the offer was made through the 'make an offer' option on ebay.

What do other similar cars sell for, its impossible to say really without knowing more details about the car. So come on, tell us more.......:D

I have made buyers aware of the reg plate situation & I'm in the progress of sorting it out. In fact, it'll probably be sorted before the auction ends.
  • Are you happy with £650? Bird in the hand and all that.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I have sold 3 cars through Ebay classified adds. Each time I have accepted offers online but made it very clear that it is my minimum price and I could not negotiate any further on the price. Some buyers think that the can negotiate a big discount online before veiwing and then knock you down again when they see it. As long as you have described the car fairly then this should not be a problem

As you have asked the question on here I get the feeling you wanted a bit more but if you are happy with the £650 then accept the offer.

If there's like 8 days left on the listing, I'd personally wait it out to see if any better offer comes through. Tell the bidder you'll consider his offer but will wait until the listing finishes before you decide.

No buyer is going to wait and you will probably get negged if you cannot complete at the end of the auction.

Has your bidder been to see it? If not then then he is probably wasting your time.
