e2save/onestopphoneshop/mobiles.co.uk for cashback - which one is best?

Aware that all cashback sites are somewhat dodgy at times.... :-)

Got a mobile phone deal and all three offer at the same price. Looking for opinions at which one is most reliable for paying cashback?

Had experience of mobiles.co.uk and they've been ok in the past (albeit a bit slow at paying).

    They are all Carphonewarehouse companies.

Mobiles.co.uk are not flavour of the month here at present. OSPS has not had so much of a bad press recently - neither has E2save.

But whichever one you choose, make sure you have a full copy of the t&c prevailing at the time printed and follow the claim process to the letter, avoiding mobiles.co.uk's on-line claim system that offers no proof of claim.

But look at sim-only plus purchasing a phone as well.
  • I've just been helping a friend sort a deal on mobiles.co.uk and the website seems to be a lot better than it used to be. They now recommend using recorded delivery to send in bills so you have proof of postage and they also provide a table showing when you should be sending the bills in based on when your contract starts. If you are willing to put a bit of work in doing the research and are organised and disciplined enough to follow their instructions to the letter then I don't see too many problems cropping up. Perhaps all the criticism they've been receiving of late has finally had an effect.

For the record, the deal I found for my friend is 900mins, unlimited texts and Vodafone passport on a tariff that is already reduced from £35 to £25. She gets 18 months back by redemption (and I know she's organised enough to stick to it) plus £50 from topcashback, taking a 24 month contract that should cost £840 down to a measly £150 - or £6.25 a month. Okay, it's a basic Samsung she's getting but it's for her husband and he's a mechanic so he doesn't want anything fancy.

Well, do your homework well with this company. I noticed that their t&c seems to have moved, but if you search their site hard enough, you will find all sorts of hidden gems

    On line claiming, for example:-

Can I email you my bill?
You can email us a copy of your bill using our cashback webform. This may be preferable as we are unable to return the original document. To access a copy of your bill you will need to visit the website of your network provider, log in to your online account, click 'view my bill' then print the page or download it as a PDF. You can then upload the screenshot or PDF of your bill t to our webform, choosing the query type 'emailing my bill'.

But sufficient MSE members have complained that they get no email confirmation and then the company denied receiving the claim.

I am the on line representative for mobiles.co.uk.

If an email or cash back claim is submitted via our web form you will receive an automated reply within 24 hours confirming receipt of your submission. This will allocate you with a "TID Number" which means your email can be located on our systems with ease.

So long as you receive this email you can be confident that the relevant team has received it.

    I hope this helps.

I am sure that is how it is supposed to work. However, there a some threads on this forum that would suggest that this is not working as you describe.

    see https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2497735

    or maybe https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2392963

    or again https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2316103

I believe there are a few more but I haven't got time to search through the forum.

You should really look at the number of complaints about your company and you might then understand why people are being advised to shop elsewhere.
