Please be gentle with me, I'm a little old lady ;)

I'm tempted to buy a Citroen C1, supermarket trips plus odds and bits mean I drive only 4k miles a year now.
Would the basic petrol C1 be ok for me ? I currently have a Nissan Micra which will probably keep going for another 20 years  but I'm bored with it and fancy a new car :o

Very nippy around town, RFL now £20 a year(no 6 months option...lol) and they have solved the leaking door seals as well
  • I personally wouldnt be any of them brand new, if I had to buy, I'd buy second hand.

My C1 is now 3 years old and i love it, when it gets replaced i will buy another identical car.

£20 tax for 12 months and it hardly ever seems to need filling up with petrol. The insurance is good too. There is only a small amount of boot space but if i want to put anything big in the boot the back seat fold down making quite a lot of room. I`ve had two big dogs in mine :D

If i absolutely had to find a single fault with it then it would be that it only has one windscreen wiper, not sure why but its always annoyed me.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

I got a second hand C1 about 9/10 months ago and I absolutely hate the thing. I don't do a huge amount of driving, probably less than 15 miles a day but I find it incredibly uncomfortable. The driving position is akward and the seat is hard and unpleasant.

I urge you to do a search on the internet for problems and faults with the car as there are many. I've had the leaking door seals leaving loads of water on the passenger side floor. I've had problems with the keys and locks, and the clutch needed replaced after only 18,000 miles. This seems to be a common problem with this car.

The acceleration is fine for city use, the road tax is cheap and it doesn't use much petrol but for me the problems far outweigh this and I wish I'd kept to my 10 year old Seicento.
  • Superb little cars those, whichever badge is on the boot.

That 3 cylinder engine is surprisingly tractable and extremely reluctant to stall being quite happy to still pull from tickover, which makes for really lazy driving not having to be in the correct gear at all times.

Many cars especially small petrols will stall as soon as you look at them making them hard work in town.

The ridiculous boot access ( or lack of ) would stop me considering one.

It is a shopping trolley with poor boot access.

Wait a couple of months and buy a face lifted Hyundai i10, best car in the class.
