If the hard disk is really faulty, a new hard disk would be much cheaper, you've got the serial no, install windows, fixed for £30.

Yes, the cables are fine, the drive is detected too, but I'm not sure what to do next? post 35 +Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
OK. I'll forget looking at a 'new' machine and focus on repairing the old one first. We are on a Moneysaving site after all.

Second hand 4500's are going on ebay for £40-60, but fixing it would be cheaper, and more satisfying!!
