Any sellers in particular to look out for? I've been looking, but am worried I'll end up with an expensive doorstop!Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
not really, just use appropriate caution, check seller's feedback (volume and quality), if poss look for business sellers (they are obliged to follow distance selling regs) and when looking at the photos, try and find one that actually shows the COA (license key sticker) is on the pc.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

The general sentiment was that the hard drive is dead? I tried looking at new hard drives but it started to look really expensive when you factor in the operating system etc, so I thought a "new" one would be more cost efficient.
Your drive is completly untested, I've seen little firm sentiment either way.
Have you tested it in another machine?
Have you looked for it being detected in BIOS? (not so far)
Have you tried it in another hard drive slot?
Have you confirmed its getting power? has a rail gone on your PSU?
Have you downloaded and run the drive manufacturers low level diagnostics?0 -

None of this was mentioned in the other thread when I asked for helpGetting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
So, shall we adjourn to the other thread? Maybe one can begin by opening the thing, giving it a good clean and checking connections are firm.0

How about this:

Corporate Refurb,
* Lenovo ThinkCentre S51 8171
* PIIII 3.2 GHz
* 1024 MB
* 80 GB
* CD ROM
* Grade 4
* Windows XP Professional
* 17" TFT Flat Screen
Processor speed and memory size are fine.
May be a bit scruffy but will work.
£150
* £5 for delivery within one to two working days
* Free delivery for orders on our longer delivery period of 3-5 working days.0 -
Too expensive for what it offers, especially with Pentium 3. They already have a monitor.
Example: £100 would get you this:
Without the monitor, it would be around £30 less.
Looking around my reveal better deals.0
