Oo rattled your cage havnt I? If you dont care who Iam why did you look at my profile?

Lets hope you always have a job and your health and never have to accept any benefits.

You dont know anything about me. How do you know I even have children?

If you give me anymore abuse I would say you care about who Iam a lot.

    Have a nice day

It was in fact you that decided they know everything about me with this comment:
You come across as someone who cannot have children and is very bitter towards anyone who can.
That demonstrated your lack on substance in a debate and lack of memory from on 2 post ago.
As i said, i have children, and unlike YOU, i don't expect handouts to feed and clothe them!

I am STILL waiting for you, and others similar to give me just one good reason why i should work hard, pay alot of tax, yet give the money to you and your family. There is no argument.

I guess i will just carry on subsidising your salary and offspring then until you can support yourself and leave it at that.
The day will come though (soon i hope), when people will need to be responsible for themselves rather than relying on others to pay their way.

Well, well, this is certainly opening up a can of worms isn't it! Well the initial question about should CB be means tested? Lets be honest means testing isn't really accurate means testing. It takes into account all incomes vs a standardised rate of outgoings based on your family, numbers etc. It does not take into account any individual curcumstances, good or bad.

CB is paid for children, means testing or not there will always be some that will, due to their personal individual circumstances, receive it and be in a position to save it and then those that might not be entitled to it but really struggle to pay for their children's upbringing. Again, this may not necessarily be due to them breeding irresponsibly but possibly to a change in circumstances, unemployment, loss of a partner etc etc. Lets hope none of the more judgemental posters here ever find themselves in such an unfortunate position!

As far as scrapping CB because people are fed up of paying for other peoples families - fine then lets also scrap all other forms of benefits too, particularly those that are paid to those people who have never paid a penny in tax. Oh and while we're we are in the frame of mind for not supporting the non-payers, maybe we should check people's input to the system before we allow them to register with a GP or receive any form of hospital care?

This should be taken into account. So, if you're married, and you earn £25k and so does your partner and one of you loses your job, you should be able to have this reviewed. Therefore, you may qualify.

Isn't this what they do with tax credits?

Its most amusing how easy it is to wind you up. Your blood pressure must be sky high.

I claim CB, WTC,TC the childcare element, free prescriptions, subsidised gym membership. I have no intention of working full time until I have to.

You keep on subsidising me. Thanks very much.
I have every possession I want. I have a lot of friends who have a lot more possessions. But in some cases I feel the possessions possess them, rather than the other way round

I get full tax credits as well as CB and I have no intentions of working full time until I have to.

You carry on subsidising me, thanks very much

You don't wind me up at all.....it's the system.
Unfortunately in this country, it people such as yourself that get handouts at every opportunity, have no desire to better yourselves so you can live independently from the state, and look to the taxpayer to to subsidise your lifestyle at any opportunity.

It is also a testament to yourself that you are proud to be a beggar and find no shame in that fact. There are many 1000's like you though so this is by no means a direct assault on you.

I am not a tory/lib by any means, but if they get anything at all right in their time in office, it must be to stop people like you bleeding the system dry.

I am also glad you find it impressive that myself, and others like me pay for your sorry existence.
Facts are though, that is pretty pathetic that you have no intenetions of supporting yourself.

The saddest thing of all though, is that people like you breed children that turn out exactly like you.

This is the reason why our country is on its knees.

Benefits SHOULDNT pay higher than work

Isnt this the direction we are slowly moving into?

Unfortunately, many thousands of people have the same 'bone idle' mentality.

The only thing that makes me happy, is the lifestyle they lead, though good for them, is only 1 step from the gutter.

We'd probably fall to the side that would still get it when I stop working for the baby coming - but if we had to do without it - we'd manage... what's the alternative to not cutting your outgoings according to your income!?

I personally don't think it should be paid for more than two children anyway. Once can be a happy accident, two - yeah well you wanted a sibling.... three or more - if you can't feed it - don't breed it.

Maybe all means tested benefits should be for a max of two children......
