Hi Ladies / Gents,
I require major help / advice.
I recently applied for bank data info for reclaiming my ppi.
I received the info yesterday via TNT, however its not only as big as I imagined and I cant see where it shows PPI amounts or if its included.
Also I thought my request would have included my full statements, charges for past 6 years, as this is what I requested in my initial letter (have kept a copy).
Please, please help me?
Thanks in advance.
Deeanne

Hi and welcome.
Deeanne, how long ago did you take this out, and is this account still active?

Hi Deanne
Your very welcome.
They should at least send details they hold on the account(s) going back at least 6 years.
Sometimes they send statements separately, but what I would do in your case is ring them and ask them why there are no statements enclosed, because your entitled under the DPA (Data protection act) law to have been supplied with these.
Maybe they will clarify.
Did you wait long for the info you already received?
In total they actually have 40 calendar days to comply, so if this time have already passed, I would definately contact them to question them on this.
If you have any further problems, you could contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) for advice on this.......

Please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)

Sorry, was meant to ask in my above post, so will post here in case you already read the above by now.....
Did you actually request for your details by means of a Subject Access Request (SAR), where you enclose the payment of £10 cheque or postal order?
There is a letter template on this site that many use here....

Hi Di,
I sent it on 06.07.10.
All that is included in similar to screen shots.
There is no information regarding the loan agreement included.
There is 1 x account transaction list from 24.12.08 - 30.07.10 (last page of data).
This shows automated credits (payments) then interest below each credit.
I didnt want to but am feeling I should maybe just appoint a company to reclaim for me, as the bank
also refused to pay my loan when I was off work for 6 weeks with an injury when I had the ppi.
Sorry to moan there...))
Thanks for all your help Di

Hi Deanne
Please don't use a claims company.
We can help you on here, all free with the help from Martin, with his useful info and links to the guidelines of reclaiming, its actually pretty straight forward.
Do you know what I would do in your case?
You do have good reason for a start to make a reclaim, so just as long as you have the account number to go by - then just continue to make the reclaim, sometimes they enclose the copy of the agreement with a response.
All you do is complete the FOS questionnaire (these were recently issued by the Financial ombudsman service) and in replacement of the first template letter.
You then send to whoever sold and set up your policy.
Remember to keep copies as well, in case you need to refer to it at some point.
They have 8 weeks in full to respond, and sometimes they will write to ask for more time, which is fine, just as long as you know where you stand.
You will find the FOS questionnaire on the below link......further down the page as stage one.

However, with the account being still active, they should still comply and send you the agreement on request.
So if you want to request for this, its up to you or see what comes back with in their letter response.
Write a simple letter, enclose a £1 cheque or postal order, ask that they supply you with the copy of the agreement (to whatever account), and ask that they supply by 12-14 days, also get proof for posting at your post office.
Hope this helps.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
HI Di,
I sent this letter and included a £10.00 cheque, is this wrong?
Please find enclosed a cheque for £10.00 as requested by your on your letter dated 11.06.10.
I am writing to request a copy of my original loan agreements & full breakdown of my account with the Royal Bank of Scotland for the past 6 years. If the original loan agreement does not include details of the insurance added to the account, such as the number and cost of any monthly payments or any lump sum fees and interest charges applicable to this fee, please attach or advise how I can get access to this information.
I would be obliged if you can include all copy statements for the last 6 years which would show all charges etc.
I look forward to your response within 40 days, as is obliged under the Data Protection Act 1998. If not I shall seek remedy from the Information Commissioner.I
If you may have require any further information or details, please do not hesitate to contact me.

This is fine Deeanne, its still a request.;)
Its up to you, but maybe you could just continue with the reclaim, afterall they did not pay out did they?
So go for it (now if you want to).:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
