Dont quite understand what you want explained?
Colleagues of mine have walked through security with bottles of water/perfume etc, all were genuine accidents on each occasion but checks arent perfect and the only way they could be would be to hand check everybag.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Hi Phatbear..
I am sure when we went 2 years ago we had to have the liquids separate and also show them in the bag.. just wondered whether things had changed? Or whether security was tighter for NYC maybe?
On my part it was a genuine accident, but made me wonder how many times people take more through than they should0 -
A few years ago (within a few days of the attempted liquid bombings) my travel partner got through security in Prague with a pocket knife. I have multiple times got through with various small items, eg lip balm, and only realised later that I missed it. The system is not perfect. Most people are very honest and not going to blow us up. And I don't fit the profile (race/sex) that the security people are looking for.0

This system is still in place you just chuck your liquids, as long as each container is'nt over 100ml's, in a clear bag, which are freely available in most decent airports, and put it through the xray but leave it out of your handbag/luggage.Bananabelly wrote: »And I don't fit the profile (race/sex) that the security people are looking for.
And the most stupid quote of the day goes too.................Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
At Edinburgh airport a few weeks back we had to put the little clear bag of liquids seperate in the tray for going thru xray.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

I don't know if anyone can help me, but I have to take some medication on Holiday with me in Spetember, which is in liquid form, I will have a letter from my Doctor to confirm I will be carrying it, as it is a Controlled Drug. Just wondering if anyone knows whether this will have to be put into 100mls bottles or whether it can be left in 2 big bottles as altogether there will be approx. 1600ml. have asked my chemist and they haven't got a clue! I know I can ring Ryanair, who I am travelling with, but can guarantee I would get different answers every time I ring. When I went a few years ago whilst carrying the same medication, just after the liquid bomb scare, I took it in 2 or 3 big bottles and only had to show my letter to Security when I went through, there was no mention then of having to split into 100ml bottles.0

Of course this isn't a scientific survey, but however much you want to deny it, the customs/security officers are racially profiling the people that walk through (subconsciously or not).0 -
Thanks for the replies everyone.
When I went from Gatwick I wasn't asked to remove the clear bag and put it through separatley , just asked whether or not I had anything.
I understand about the profiling, however bad people come from all walks of life,& in all colours.0 -

It is not Ryanair that makes the rules its the CAA. Just found this on the Stansted site:

Looks like you need priot Airline & Airport approval for over 100ml along with a letter from your doctor.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
