Good old mood swings can crop up at the strangest of times. You do an awful lot Majjek so you should be proud of yourself. Selling excess veg sounds good. Could that work at car boots?:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0

I agree with KP that fruit and veg and flowers sell really well at car boots around here. Is that something you could do? You just need to check that it is permitted. One of our CBS does not allow people to sell any sort of food or drink as they bring in their own sellers. The rest are fine though.
Hope you are feeling better today, you'll see from my diary that I'm up and down like a yoyo too!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Thanks KP and jwil, feeling much better today. Got the kids off to school and had a nice long soak in the bath and pampered myself a bit (feet are currently swamped in soap & glory foot and heel cream and everytime I walk, I squelch ! :rotfl: )
I think I was giving myself a hard time yesterday over how quickly (and easily
) we ran up the c/c and littlewoods. This is the first time, in a long time, that we've had debt (been in a bad place about 10 years ago) and I don't like it much . It was, however, the only way we could get the house decorated, the savings just weren't growing quick enough.
But it's done now and we've got to work hard to get it paid off. I know it's not much compared to some people, but when I think how much I'm paying in interest every month, it half kills me !
Anyway, more positive things !
Holiday is only a few days away now and I'm really looking forward to spending a week with just me and DH (grandparents are coming to baby/house/dog sit). Holiday was all paid for before the c/c debt mounted up so I have no guilty feelings about it at all (apart from leaving the kids for a week but we do need this holiday - lots of personal reasons which I won't go into on here
).
Weight is pretty stable at the moment, no loss but no gain either. I'll try much harder after hols, I promise !
Loving the idea about selling fruit/veg at car boots so thank you for giving me a nudge. I have seen people selling various bits and pieces at our local ones before so I'm sure there are no hard and fast rules about it. I do have a few other bits and pieces I want to get rid of so I'll make efforts to organise myself at the end of the month. Car boots run all year down here so I've no excuse to wait until the warmer months
.
Right, I must get on and do some Guides prep for tomorrow night.Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 -

I'm back

Had a fantastic holiday, very chilled and relaxed but it was nice to come home and see the children. Wasn't nice to come home to the weather though, it was 20 degrees in Turkey
!
Have spent the last few days catching up on washing and other chores so MSE has taken a back seat for a bit but I'm ready for the off again.
However, we had some bad news the night we returned, DH's job is at risk
. We won't know for a couple of weeks whats going to happen so that'll be hanging over us for the next month or so. I've applied for 2 jobs this week (just in case) so we'll see what happens. The only positive thing that will come out of it is that he'll have a fair wack of redundancy pay so we'll be able to pay off the c/c and car loan.
My only real worry is that he won't be able to find another job and we'll have to go on benefits (which will be s*d-all, I've already checked) ! Seems that if you work your whole life you get hardly enough to feed your family, let alone pay the bills too .
Anyway, we can't worry until it all happens (if it does) so we're trying to stay positive until then and carry on as normal.
I'm off for a bit of retail therapy this morning (car boot sale :rotfl:), I could do with a new mantle clock as our old one (of 16 years) broke the other day.
Have a good weekend :beer:Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 -
Yea the holiday Boo the redundancy threat:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0

Today's been a lovely day, sun shining, DS footie team won their game 6-0 (retain their top of the league position :T) and DH cooked me a lovely roast dinner this evening with one of the reduced xmas pork joints
.
I paid an extra £200 off the c/c yesterday so very pleased :j and the car loan and littlewoods are coming down nicely too. c/c balance not updated yet so I'll update sig when it appears. Want to get these paid off asap now the redundancy threat is hanging over us
.
Went food shopping and spent £80 but have plenty in for the next 10 days at least. I only went over my budget by £9 last month but did some stockpiling in the process so I'm pleased with that. I've kept Feb grocery budget the same (£350).
2 council tax free months now so that'll be put towards the c/c plus any extra I have left over at the end of each month.
I've done all the housework today too so I've got a bit of a relaxing day tomorrow, going to spend some time at the library in the morning and do some cooking in the afternoon (not sure what I'm going to cook yet but if I'm in the mindset then there could be dozens of cakes in the freezer by the end of the day :rotfl:). Have to pop into town as well and buy DS some new school shoes, worn out as opposed to grown out of them so not such a needless spend. His growing has slowed down for the moment, thank god !
Still no Tax refund cheque yet but DH chased up last week and they said it should have been sent but for some reason, got forgotten . Typical ! Should be with us within 14 days.
Have to get back on the diet soon as well, I put on 6lb while we were away but I think most of that was alcohol
, the cocktails were rather nice ! All inclusive is lovely but not if you're trying to watch your weight . I shall have to give myself a kick up the bum and get out for some long walks, I might walk to library instead of drive if the weather is good . Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 -
Glad you had a good holiday, but that's a shame about your DH's job being at risk. Hope things manage to get sorted out there.
Nowt like a bit of car booting for some retail therapy
4 books and a DVD for £2 yesterday. Not bad, though I needed them like a hole in the head

Not much to report here today. c/c balance has updated so I've now adjusted the totals on my signature

Popped to L1dl to get some more fruit this morning and a few other storecupboard bits and bobs that were on offer, spent £18 so not too bad.
Saved money elsewhere though, DS lost his PE shirt a few weeks ago so I went to the 'specialist' (meaning expensive !) shop where they do them (house colours and logo etc etc) only to be told that because the schools are amalgamating in Sept, they've stopped doing them . Phoned the school and they managed to find him one that hadn't been claimed in lost property so that saved me a few £££s - I think it was probably his top anyway

Great news on the PE shirt!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
