Ahhh peace and quiet, well for a few hours anyway . All back to school today so I managed to get a good blast on the decluttering and washing pile. . All back to school today so I managed to get a good blast on the decluttering and washing pile.
The kitchen is now a lot tidier and i've cleared a cupboard and shelf ready for stockpiling food/cleaning offers as and when they come up . .
Paperwork in the office is now filed/shredded where appropriate and I've also managed to sort out a few boxes of things ready for a car boot sale (maybe this weekend if the weather is good - they run all year round down here :j). DD1 and her b/f have sorted/decluttered their room so they've got a bit they want to sell too. We'll split the fees between us so I should only have to pay out a couple of quid :T.
Small spend today on some binbags and a birthday present for a family member.
Had some good news today too, DH phoned the tax office as he's got a company car and we're not sure if we're one of those that's due a refund (or worse, we owe them money !) But, we've got a few hundred £££s winging it's way to us as I type :j:j:j:j. He's been on the wrong code for 2 years !
So, with holiday spending money sitting in the bank and enough to cover food and small things until the end of the month, I wasn't going to be able to overpay on the c/c until Feb but I can now :T. I want to keep a bit back for a small 'emergency fund' but most of it will be going on the c/c. :T. I want to keep a bit back for a small 'emergency fund' but most of it will be going on the c/c.
Eating has been absolutely awful today but in my defence it's my blasted TOTM and I am always absolutely ravenous . Tomorrow will be a better day, I don't want to go backwards . Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 . TOTM - horrible time when chocolate and all things bad seem to be a neccesity (sp)!
Great news on the tax refund and well done on the decluttering:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0

Thanks KP, eating still bad today but hopefully tomorrow will be back to a bit of normality
Nothing exciting to report today, waiting for my c/c online statement to update so that I can see exactly what I owe this month.
Littlewoods d/d payment is due out in a couple of days too so I can knock a bit off that total soon too . .
No cheque from HMRC yet but I think poor mr postman is still catching up from the snow down here
Spent a bit of today doing some prep for my meeting tomorrow night (girlguides), catching up with a bit of washing and keeping tidy.
Tea tonight was stew & dumplings (I was good and only had one ! :j). Enough left for a small bowl for lunch tomorrow too.
My resolution to not spend so much time on the comp is going really well and, if I'm honest, I didn't think I'd be able to do it . But the decluttering is keeping me busy and I've started to read again - have quite a few books to get through and I want to get into the habit again. I'm reading 'The White Queen' by Pilippa Gregory, it's not my usual read but I'm enjoying it more than I thought. . Thank you Jwil (am still reading through your diary, on about page 10, am a slow reader ) )
Today has been a really good day eating-wise, I've been very positive and thought I ought to reign myself in a bit seeing as I've put on a couple of lbs - they need to go before holiday !
Dinner tonight is turkey curry (with xmas leftovers from the freezer).
I did a bit of grocery shopping today although I hadn't planned to spend as much as I did - Mr T had all their frozen xmas joints/salmon reduced to 1/2 price so I kind of stocked up a bit . Lots of other 1/2 price offers too on things that I will use. I'm hoping that'll do for the rest of the month with only a couple of small additional spends on things like milk/packed lunch bits and pieces. . c/c statement in and i've updated the total, not much off it this month as there's been no overpayment - that'll change once the tax refund comes in . .
I might spend some time this evening doing a bit of comping - I won a few things last year :j so going to start entering competitions again and see what I can win this year. I'm hoping to get a fair few xmas presents this way !
Really dreary here, rain is lashing down and the wind is getting up (outside, not inside ! :rotfl: ) I can't wait for the spring now, not long and i'll be able to sow some seeds in the greenhouse :T.Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000

It's been a productive day in the majjak household
We've been out in the garden and DH has finally decluttered his shed :j. He can now actually get in it !!!! :rotfl:Nothing worth ebaying/car booting though, god knows why he kept it all in the first place !
I've been busy tidying the greenhouse and planting my garlic. I've cut down the raspberry canes ready for new growth and dug over one of the raised beds. It was really nice to get out in the fresh air and tidy the garden .......... was good for the soul !
Today's only spending was £4-odd on some secateurs (sp?) .... I couldn't find my old ones (and they were really old so I didn't mind having to buy a new pair). Got those from Foc*s DIY as we got sent 15% off cards.
Eating has been ok today, weetabix for brekkie, lunch was battered fish (bit naughty:o) and our home grown new potatoes (grown in the greenhouse for xmas but didn't get round to digging them up until today) and dinner was chicken stir fry. Had a couple of choccie biccies as a snack and some fruit - a much better day, just got to keep it up now !
I think we're going to pop to the car boot sale tomorrow, just to have a nose around and a walk. I will take a bit of money with me but don't intend spending anything unless I see a real bargain.
Have finished my book and starting another, not much on TV tonight so hoping to get a good bit of it read - just got to stay away from the choccies ! Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000

Well, I didn't come home from the car boot empty handed .......... only 2 things so not too bad. Got a saucepan stand for £3 (have been after one for ages so I can free up another cupboard for stockpiling ) and some loppers for £2 (some trees outside the front of the house need pruning, these should do the job nicely). ) and some loppers for £2 (some trees outside the front of the house need pruning, these should do the job nicely).
We went in DH car (company one) so he payed for petrol. I'm trying not to use mine unless absolutely necessary, the price of petrol is really hitting hard ! I've vowed to walk DS to school when the weather is good and walk into town too if I need any bits and pieces. I do have to venture out in the car tomorrow however, need to go and do the Guides banking (in the next town) and run another couple of errands, DD2 wants to spend the rest of her birthday money on some books but she's been waiting until the 10th when her WH sm*th voucher starts (£5 off a £15 spend) - I know where she gets her frugality from :money:. :money:.
I've been very good today with food, weetabix for breakfast, lunch was a crab (tinned) roll and a low fat yoghurt, I had a snack of some marmite on crackers and 2 clementines and we're having one of the pork joints I bought from Mr T for dinner with roast potatoes and veg. I'll weigh myself tomorrow and post the results (fingers crossed!) I'll weigh myself tomorrow and post the results (fingers crossed!)
I've made some more cupcakes for the kids pack-ups but I didn't have enough icing sugar to make the icing thick enough, it was a bit runny to say the least :rotfl:. They have a bit of choc melted on top instead.
Nothing on the debt payment front to report, DD for Littlew00ds comes out tomorrow so I'll update sig when the balance has been updated, it's all coming down slowly but surely Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000

Just a quick update while I wait for my hair dye to take
Run some errands this morning and spent the rest of my birthday money in the Mons00n sale . I got 2 gorgeous tops, a dress, some bracelets and a necklace all at 70% off so I was very happy :j. I lurveeeeeeeee Mons00n things but I can't justify the price, unless they're in the sale of course ! :money: . Had a nice relaxing afternoon, pottering and catching up with a bit of washing and reading my book.
Eating mostly good today, a few small treats but nothing excessive. Got to walk DS to and from school today so good on the exercise front too :T.
Popped to Mr S to get some butter (had run out almost) and got a few reduced items, 2 x quiches down to 60p from 1.99 (will do for lunches with some salad), 2 x veggie pizzas down to 99p from 2.39 and some choc muffins, 8 in a pack, down to 25p (x 2) - I can't make them for that !
Littlew00ds payment has come out of the bank and is showing on my account now so i've adjusted signature. I have a free hotel stay that I have to use up through them, must ring up and book that before it runs out !
Right, hair is probably over-done, time to go I think ! Will pop over to jwil's diary and try and read some more tonight, I just wish my diary was as inspiring as hers Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000

ohhh me? an inspiration? (blushes!) Thank you jwil, I'm nearly finished reading your diary, I'll be there very soon ! Am loving all the positivity though, and I just wish I had some things to Ebay (did all that last year Am loving all the positivity though, and I just wish I had some things to Ebay (did all that last year ). ).
Been racking my brains with a friend tonight, about how we can make some pennies this year. I do grow my own veg so might see if I've got any surplus and sell it in the front garden (usually rhubarb and runner beans that swamp us). Ebay, I have nothing I can sell really and no books worth putting on amazon. So, any ideas would be most welcome !
I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself today, no particular reason why, just been in a glum mood - I get like this sometimes, very strange I am . Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 . Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000
