Many thanks to taplady for starting today's thread.
So sorry to hear about your son, beemuzed. You're in my thoughts.
Hope you'll be posting pictures of your furniture, Gers - I bet it will look fantastic!
Hope your asthma stabilises, Butterfly Brain. I had it when I was in my teens and it's not fun
Nice to see another Weegie posting, jackieglasgow! I tend to have the study window open all the time for the cats to come and go and am also finding it cold today.
Got my shopping yesterday with one deviation to Beanscene - but we'll not talk about that!
Today should have been a busy one but I'm feeling rotten (just a cold) so am cancelling everything that doesn't affect the spin of the earth. Am debating going back to bed when I've written this post.
OS-wise, the SC is making a Quorn Meatball Concoction and the DW is on. The cats' food and toilet needs have been dealt with. The house is still fairly tidy as the cleaner was here yesterday although we won't talk about my desk which she doesn't touch.
Will try and check in later to see how everyone is doing - hugs to those who want themHousehold: Laura + William-cat

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Tiredmum-hope you have a lovely day.
Jackie- thanks ,you've just given me the idea of what to have for tea,I've loads of red peppers, and some bol sauce in the fridge that can easily be turned into chilli
Beemuzed- I'm so sorry to hear your son is back in hospital,it must be a great worry for you.(((Hugs))) to you all.
I'm just going to finish the ironing off,did a lot last night, but some bedding left, and then go and start on the baby quilt. Its a grey day,so I might as well do some sewing.
Last nights curry was a big success using the paneer cheese-I was a bit dubious, thought there would be turned up noses, but all 3 menfolk really enjoyed it :jI started the sauce off with some leftover sauce from a takeaway. There's always loads,so I freeze whats left, and it seems to give a good base to start from.I just added loads of veg, more chilli & spices, ground almonds and yogurt.
Right, best get on - help yourself to a hug if you want one, plenty going spare :)x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi all,
I've never posted here before so .
Another day at work for me (BORED). Haven't had time for a supermarket shop this week (Hoped to go to asda after the landlord had come over on monday to deliver a new microwave after the last one exploded but he didn't turn up until 8.30pm:eek:) so will be cobbling together supper tonight. i have two chicken breasts and two rashers of bacon defrosting, will cook off with a homegrown courgette (if it's ready!), some homegrown beans given to me by someone at work, probably some frozen peas/spinach. Then I'm going to add that to a roux sauce (got some tarragon ice cubes to use up so will stick them in) and a load of pasta, cover in breadcrumbs (also in freezer!) and bake in t'oven. Hope it all works out! It's nice not to spend money on supper for once....feels like I'm getting it for free :rotfl:
Then I'm off to the cinema tonight (on my own) to see a Bristol-made film called Release. Should be good!
Hope you all have a good daySum quod sum.0 -
Beemuzed - (((hugs))) to your DS. We went to Oberammagau in 2007 (we were driving back to France from Italy and decided to go through the Alps!). We weren't there when the Passion Play was on, though. I found it to be the strangest place I've ever been. When we were driving away, I could almost imagine it disappearing behind us in a puff of smoke. When I mentioned it to a friend later, she said that people say it's not really there! It has a very Hans Christian Anderson feel, and I would love to know what you think about it!

Morning all....................((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one, especially Beemuzed.......
Woke up to a bright morning, so a load of washing on, I am sharing the line with my neighbour until we get the new clothes post in.....its her turn tomorrow......it keeps clouding over, so just keeping my eye on it in case it rains.
OH has been ok this morning, just keeping my fingers crossed he does not go down with one at lunch time, he has an appointment for an echocardiogram at 2pm, we then have to go into Edinburgh to get some quick setting concrete for said clothes post.
More beans and we have another cauli coming, mince, cauli, calebrese, carrots and new spuds for supper......I sent half a cauli rounf to our LL, he has agreed to pay for the cowl and the new chimney pot....wonders will never cease!!!
I finished one sock last night started another, I am getting more used to using the 4 needles, although I still find starting a bit of a pain.......
Invitation in the post for us to attend OH's old bowls club Presidents Day 28th of this month.....I do not think so, we would need to be met at the airport and taken back.....I cannot justify the flights especially as I have to fork out to have the stove fitted. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hello all.
Welcome to all our new friends – I see we have a few new posters.
Beemuzed I don't know what to say, sweetie; what a dreadful situation for you.:( (((HUG)))
Bargainbird I love the idea of shaking the cupboard and seeing what falls out for dins – my mealplan tells me Quorn toad-in-the-hole, but I have to find the enthusiasm to make the batter from somewhere!:o
Happy Birthday Tired Mum.:bdaycake:
Butterfly Brain sending easy-breathing vibes your way. I've never had asthma, but I've had friends who've suffered.:o
Purpleivy I know what you mean, I can't think that anyone would really care if I've washed the bedlinen, or what we're having for dins, but when I stopped posting, one of our friends here trotted across to the Flylady thread to haul me back! So you see, people do care!:o
Suzybloo hmmm.... I have this vision of you standing staring at the leccy meter in your PJ's and I can't get it out of my head now!:rotfl:
Csarina I hope your OH gets on OK at the hossy.:o
Am thinking I'mgoing to start needing to have hot drinks during the day – for some time now, I've just been having 1 glass of Red Bull substitute (either Tesco Kx or Morrisons Source) to get going, and then just water for the rest of the day, but it's starting to get chilly now. Looking at all the comments re the amount of leccy kettles use, I might just haul the thermos out of the cupboard and make a whole pot of tea to start with, and have it to hand for the rest of the day.;)
I need to keep an eye on the weather; I have towels and hankies out on the line, and I don't want them rained on. Trouble is, it takes me several minutes to hobble outside, so I need to start the minute the first drop falls! Feet are particularly painful today, as we were out last night, and therefore I had to wear shoes. Gods know how I'm going to do my Wii Fit, but do it I will, even if it kills me!:D
Dogless for two days, also, and the place seems very empty. I shall just have to look forward to Pip & Pandora's arrival on Friday.:o
Ooh, this post's getting a tad long.... I'd better shut up for a bit.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I've been reading but not managing to post for a while. Life is fairly chaotic at the moment. We're still in the process of renovating a new house. The windows and doors are now in, the electrician has almost finished and the central heating goes in tomorrow. I'm still trying to sort out the bathroom and kitchen.
We also had DS2 birthday party at the weekend the kids seemed to enjoy it, but I seem to be out of step with the other parents in his class. I just invited 8 children to the house, took them to the local park for a run around then back for a picnic lunch in the garden. I was going to do some party games but they were having fun so didn't bother. The fashion here is to invite the whole class, hire a hall/sports centre, usually with a party organiser and the last party we went to had used a caterer! I wonder sometimes if I'm being mean not to give DS the same?
I've got my washing on the line, but it looks like it is going to rain soon. I've also done a little gardening, sorted out DS2 clothes and all the childrens books. I'm trying to declutter so we won't have as much to move. Dinner tonight will be risotto. I need to go and clean the oven & grill now
HUGS to all that need them0 -
