Morning all
For some reason I thought it was Thursday today, bit put out to find out it's only Wednesday:( Mind you gives me an extra day before my WW weigh in, hoping if I put on over my hol it has now gone again.
WM on, very grey and 'waiting to rain' looking so that will be hung on the airer before work.
Not sure what's for tea tonight, had chicken stir fry for the last 2 nights, hate the first week back after hols, eating up stray stuff from the freezer and dashing into the shops after work to find something to go with it! will do an online shop today, get back into the routine.
Have a good day xxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Morning :hello:
The kitchen is a tip at the moment. We're slowly getting the work done, it should've been finished ages ago but things keep popping up and we actually have to PAY for them - I really don't like parting with moneyThe doorway to the 'utility room' (more of a large cupboard really) is now half bricked up thanks to master tru. The mortar is almost dry so he'll finish that tonight.
Went to the scrapyard yesterday, made £66.20 :j We've now got enough money to pay for the rendering. I have a lovely little money pig, I've been putting the money we've made from egg and veg sales in there. There'll soon be enough to pay for the plastering. Oh and someone gave me 4 chairs, so I only have to buy a table. I can't find exactly what I want so I might make one. Anyone got instructions for that?
There was only one full time job (that didn't require super-duper qualifications) in our local paper, miss tru applied for it. I didn't - I can hardly go up against my own daughter, can I?
Not much OSing this week, mr tru has the week off. We've hardly spent any money though, we've been taking lunch and flasks of coffee with us. No idea where we're going today, could be anywhere down the coast between Weston and BudeBulletproof0 -
Morning all,
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to Tired MUM, have a great day xxxx
Bright beautiful day here, but there is a slight chill in the air, the very beginning of autum i think, not sure what happened to summer
Beemuzed, how difficult for you, I know you said the Dr's wont talk to you, but I would tell them that you are due to go away, and ask if they think you should go, big hugs for your ds xx
No washing to do today, whats the betting the basket is full tomorrow ?
Yesterday I made my friend a cottage pie, a lasagne and a beef casserole, and some twinks, I will run them over to her later on, for her to freeze, it will make life a lot easier for her after her op. I also made a huge bowl of fruit salad for us, and a lasagne for us and a beef casserole, and some twinks.
I am going to do my at home work for a hour this morning, then dd and I are off into town, she is meeting a mate, and I need to get my dad some slippers for his birthday on Friday, I may also nip into Lakeland I need to replace some of my Lock n Lock, as some of them have been relegated to the shed for storage, they were very old and the clasps had started to go.
Something marvelous with chicken for dinner, might do a chicken casserole, nice and easy.
Ok better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Morning peeps
Started off bright and sunny but now gone very dark and threatening to rain and I have a line full of washing out so I am keeping one eye on the weather as I type.
Asthma is bad today really can't get my breath - already nebulised. I am hoping it will pass and I don't have to go to the Dr.
Got to go and get the last few bits for the party today and then I will be baking all afternoon.
Beemuzed (((((((Hugs))))))
Happy Birthday TiredMum :bdaycake:

Good morning all, it's a while since I've posted, but I have popped in occasionally to see what everyone is doing. I always feel noone is bothered whether I have done the laundry, what I've cooked etc etc, but I do like the reminders I get from you all when you comment you have done the same!
Holidays done and dusted, bar the usual last week of the hols which we mum's spend on a wet campsite at Bala with the kids. I read the outlook for next week. I'm certain they just used last year's...or maybe the one from the year before!
Found a recipe last night to try. Why was it so difficult to find recipes for Malt Loaf that actually have Malt in them? Anyway, found three, so will have a go today methinks. Well, later on maybe. Must clear up first as our best man of 24 years ago is calling later.
DD doing a meal for family friends here tomorrow. There will be about 10 of us I think, so that will give her something to think about. I have a client in for treatments, so will keep a low profile.
I'm still trying to keep up with my OS ways, but not doing too well in the menu planning front. That needs to become a habit again. Freezer needs defrost and audit.
DH instructed DS to pick the apples. He didn't actually check they were ripe though, so I have a ton of apples here in the kitchen. Trying to just puree them for the freezer. I'm coring them, then stewing and putting through the Kenwood Chef strainer.
Picking up a few bits of sewing and stuff for other people. Hoping that I can drop the few hours I do out of the house eventually.
Hope your weather stays good and your laundry gets dry!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Hello folks, its a lovely day here too, but a little nippy early on. Dont have a full wash to do so wont bother doing a half load, DW has been on and is now finished. Read the electricity meter and gas meter so quite pleased our usage is only £11 for the last week, when I was reading the meter I couldnt believe how fast the wheel was going round, and wondered why that was happening but remembered I had the kettle on, so I thought I would wait and see if it would change when the kettle went off - it was hardly moving so a definate reason to put that extra hot water in a flask - sad I know bet the neighbours were wondering why this mad woman was standing watching the electric meter with her pyjamas on at half seven in the morning :-)
Back to work tomorrow and have not achieved anything like I thought I would so will have to get my skates on -I should just get things done and then i can enjoy my time off, but I spend days worrying about doing things (sorting out hubbys accounts) and then I am pushed into a corner and it MUST be done in a short time so its my own fault I am so stressed this morning. Three hard hours of paperwork and I will get the afternoon to myself. My new motto will be DO NOT PUT OFF ANYTHING - GET IT DONE.
i have a Tesco shop coming this afternoon, but it is not a big one, the delivery is only £3.50 but taking into account the things I would buy we dont need and the thought of trailing round its money well spent. My intention is doing some baking and making soup this afternoon, which will do us until the weekend, and doing a bit ironing, as must get the place tidied up the surveyors are coming to measure for new windows on Friday so they will be in every room, I cant hide things anywhere!!!!
Hugs to those that need them - especially Beemuzed what a difficult situation for you,
Hope you all have a good day

Morning all :hello:
Haven't been able to read or post in the last few days as work is taking over in the mad rush to get everything done before I go on leave in a week and a bit.
OS wise today, I need to meal plan and do the Tesco shop tonight - here's hoping that DH doesn't insist on coming along with me to "help"! Of course his idea of helping involves standing there listlessly behind the trolley and claiming not to know what I mean when I say, "can you get the cheese please?"... Times like these that I really miss the rolley eyes smilie
Hope everyone is happy and healthy and hugs to those that are under the weather or suffering.

Morning All,
Beemuzed I don't know what I could say that would be a comfort to you, but wanted to let you know I have been thinking of you and your son, and will continue to do so. I hope it turns out to be not as bleak as he is seeing things just now. XX
Redruby you are a sweetie doing that for your friend. X
It's freezing in Glasgow today and was last night, too! I live with my back door open, and think the time might be coming where it needs to be closed already! Brrr and Booo! to that.I think I will stick the electric blanket on the bed too, DH complained that his side of the bed was cold this morning when he came home from work, and it was freezing when I went into it last night! Regarding electricity consumption, I have recently signed up for the SMart Energy thing with my supplier (won't say who as I work for them!) and got one of those energy reading meters, it normally ticks along at 2 or 3 pence an hour, when I put the kettle on it jumps up to 38p per hour! Thankfully the kettle doesn't take an hour to boil, but my oven only jumps it up to 32p, I think I need to invest in a thermos for my daytime tea, when I am in the house, it seems crazy to do that once or twice and hour.
Plan for the day is more of the same. The washing has started to pile up again, as has the general look of neglect as I did very little during the day yesterday. I gutted both the loo and bathroom last night, skirtings doors and all, so they look fab, so the livingroom and kitchen will hopefully get the same treatment. I also need to bake some goodies as the boys have friends round after school, and forage for dinner. I think there's a chance it will be Chilli as my Chilli fan is coming.OH can have some for his dinner at work too, if I get it soon soone enough, I am watching my carbs to try and kick start the diet I haven't been on for the last two weeks
so I will stick mine in a pepper I think and have it with salad. There's also a punnet of plums begging to be turned into jam, so I'll do that too.
Hope you are all well and have good days, I'm sure I wanted to say something to someone else but I can't remember what or whom! Hugs to all.

Morning!
I'm a little miffed this morning - as I currently have nothing to do my drying on indoors, apart from the curtain rail in the bathroom (and no spare hangers to do that with lol), I watch the weather religiously before bedtime, to see if it's going to be ok to dry my washing the following day... The past 2 nights I haven't done it, because the weatherman told me it was going to rain, and the past 2 mornings, I've woken up to warm, bright sunshine. Ok, I'm not complaining about the sunshine, but I want to do my washing! Think I'll do it tonight regardless, and just hope - although, obviously, it's going to rain tomorrow now!
Not got much to do today, will put the hoover round later, as I think my step-mum/landlady is dropping round either this evening or tomorrow morning with a couple of kitchen bits for me, don't want to make it look as if I cleaned for her (she isn't all that bothered, as long as the coffee mugs are clean!), but want the place presentable! Guess it'll be more studying for me, until I get bored and distracted by the sewing machine or knitting. I've had the first out already this morning, to repair the strap on a dress - thought I'd done it already, turns out I'd just washed it with the safety pin still in it lol
Right, time to make coffee and crack on with the work...
