You can't really call that a 'bait & switch' then. Does suck that they increased you to so much though.
Speaking of Life of Balance cards - the alternative to sainsbury's is the &more card, or if you can't get that have a look at the Morgan Stanley - they have something along the lines of 3.9% BT until July 2010.0 -
got to love the people that slate MBNA when they have 'probably' used there 0% for moving there DEBT around

i have just checked the balance has gone to my other card but come not off the virgin yet, so it still shows a balance on my virgin , i did phone up and theres no budging in there department , so as soon as the bt has gone through and cleared my virgin im gonna close the account, they cant treat there customers like that, ive never made a late payment, got a bad credit history or anything like that, its embarrasing it is the highest apr card i have so ill defently be binning it!0

MBNA raised my interest rate from 14% to 26.9%!!!Trouble is I can't transfer it anywhere and it's my highest balance so I'm stuffed to put it mildly.

I receive my letter 2 days ago, APR going up to 27.9% (this is the second time this year that they have tried that :wall:). Basically I am at the top of my 8400 credit limit - so I guess they see me as a risk.
Called Virgin and asked them to reconsider the APR as I wasn't going to pay 27.9 % (if I wanted that rate I would have got a store card)
I explained that I would pay off the account by cashing in my sharesave plan with work(which I don't want to do) and then Cancel the card if they couldn't do anything better. They had a quick look at my account and then said they would leave the APR at my current rate on this occasion :j.0
