Back in January i recieved a parking ticket :(, which i appealed against and lost. I recieved a letter stating i had lost and could pay £30 in the next 10 days. In 5 days i recieved a letter saying it was now £70. I wrote asking if there was an admin error, but had no reply. I then recieved a letter from AA Hutton (debt service). So i paid the £30. I later recieved another letter from TCP saying i still hadn't paid. I emailed stating i had and that i did query the amount previously and no one replied!. They then said i had paid on line and got the PCN number wrong and would sort it out and close the case.
This was all about 5 months or so after the original ticket. I am now being hounded by AA Hutton who state that i recieved another ticket in December with TCP, which i paid the £30 for and the one in January is outstanding.
I did not recieve a parking fine in December (i have only found out about this ticket today, via email from TCP), but unfortunatly due to all the letters and emails sent, now i look back at a previous email, the parking fine i have paid is for the made up ticket in December.I had obviously neglected to look at the date on the ticket as in my mind i was just paying the ticket which i recieved in January.
I have asked TCP to send me all the information regarding both tickets, which they havent done and just state that they've handed it over to AA Hutton.
Does anyone know what i should do?!?Help?!?:( and due to me thinking that the case was closed some time ago....i no longer have the paper documents regarding this case!!!

Yep, seconded, ignore them. I am so sad to read you actually PAID the scammers £30?

It's such a common scam that almost everyone on this board has had at least one private parking ticket and ignored it (mine was over a year ago). There is no risk in ignoring everything in the absence of sealed, genuine Court papers (which won't come).

Just ignore them and the debt collector letters that will follow. You can see a preview of the letters to ignore, in the first post of the first thread on this board - look under Town & City and you'll see your A A Hutton letters:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163

Plus you'll see by the number of current threads (of which there are pages and pages!) on that link, just how common this scam is. Your question has been asked before lots of times, this thread is one of hundreds! Read some threads on the link above, then look back pages and pages and pages - except for the odd Police or Council ticket and clamping case - all of those threads are from people like you.

All the same, all ignored, doesn't matter who the PPC is. Nothing will happen.

You will just get some free paper aeroplanes (see this Watchdog link to see why that's funny!):

NEVER pay a private parking ticket ever again, you've been had but at least 'only' for £30.

  • Yeah i'm picking up on that vibe from other previous posts.....I can't imagine AA Hutton would bother court proceedings for a mere £70! and if they do, you are all invited!

That's the spirit, put the £30 down to experience and spread the word = ignore!

Sigh of relief may have perhaps been too soon!.....
Just recieved this poorly written email :
If you didn’t have 2 ticket why was 1 paid and the other appealed against?
....do you think i will be hassled for ages now as i have made contact with them and they think i may give in as i paid the £30 before?!?

This is an excellent example of why you should totally ignore all correspondence (short of actual court documents) from PPC's.

Once you have communicated with them, and even better, sent them some money, they will view as a lucrative source of income to be milked as much as possible.

The O.P should now draw a line under this, ignore all future threats from them and their debt collectors, and enjoy the money they are saving.
  • yep will do. It's sad that they have hassled me for so long and still manage to get under my skin.
I will ignore all correspondence here on in, and will not only enjoy the money im saving, but the time i'll be saving not fretting over such a ridiculous thing!

What's a good way to tell them to **** off, is there anything i can quote or just simply ignoring anything else sent to me is the only way forward....(these emails still manage to make my blood boil!)

The law against harassment is the thing to quote, here's an informative link about what debt-chasers can and cannot do, and where you can report their breach:

    http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=03_harassment

They are breaking the law and can be taken to Court over it. They must desist if you are denying the debt, basically you can say 'any alleged debt is denied. See you in Court and stop contacting me as my solicitor is already looking into a case against you for harassment'.

They are putting pressure on you because you actually paid something so they think you will pay again. They think you still believe a PPC ticket is a real fine - but you know it's not now don't you? But by paying you've got them all excited that you are a 'hooked fish'.

By the way, you don't mean that you got a private message on this forum, do you? If it was a pm on here from a sad troll then report it as abuse.

If it was a 'normal' email then just add the sender to your 'blocked senders list'. Go to your email and choose 'tools' then 'message rules' then 'blocked senders list' and add that email address. Job done, blocked! :D

  • It was an email to my normal account, sender is now blocked. And if i recieve any other emails i will quote the above.
Many thanks for all your support.
