He's allowed to look at them, but since he's 40 and not 14 he chooses not too. If he suddenly started reading them I would take it as the onset of dementia.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0

I dont careMy OH can read what he likes, and is well aware the pictures are airbrushed! Besides, I'm far better than any airhead in a magazine, so he can look all he likes, but knows very well that he already has the bestShould've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
My OH has recently started reading the equivalent magazine here in Israel. Blokes magazine, talk about beer drinking, bad jokes, semi naked girls. She seems to think the writing is far better than most the crap that comes with womens mags. Personally I don't really care about that sort of thing, if I want to look at naked women I have an internet connection.0

Yesoh tell your other half to stop having a moan. womans mags are nearly as bad as mens with the topless male of the week, problem pages and pin ups etc
if you want to buy a mag like that go for it
what is stopping you
i would never stop my other half getting a mag like that, on the other hand i do not like the sun, the newspapers i do not like but magazines are fine
does that make sense. i think if you buy a magazine like that you need to be of a certain age, the sun however a young child could buy in a shop
but to be honest i personally find some of the lads mags quite entertaining to read. ok you could debate the whole look of the girls on it, maybe have some curvier ones but its a heck of a lot better than having size zero models, its real girls in it. personally i would not post myself in a pic but it is real people
so let a man be!!!:A VK :A0 -
Yesand at end of day you are looking not touching. have a swatch at her magazines and im sure you would be surprised and she would not be able to say anything:A VK :A0

yeh not quite sure about these mags myself. dont seem to give you any useful information. i buy 'stuff' and thats got models in not a lot, on the front but i only buy it for the gadget reviews. like when i asked my old man y he frequents the local stripper joint... the answer....its normally quiet, good ale and biggest/nicest tv. i actually believe him aswell, nowadays if u want a good old perv you can look through the web (find more suitable material) whats the point in paying for something thats lets be honest is a bit trashy?!?!0

YesI would never dream of forbidding the purchase of FHM and the like, we aren't talking about children here!
However, both men's and women's magazines in those genres are generally pretty demeaning to women. Men's in the obvious way, the latter with their "look how fat she is"/ "look how thin she is" nonsense. Both types of magazine perpetuate the idea that a woman's worth is derived from her looks, and not her intelligence or personality.
Personally, I'd rather spend the £3.50 on a book!0 -

Both magazines also perpetuate the myth that a mans worth is his wallet or celebrity status.
Men go for looks, it's the way we're wired. We can appreciate good personality, and even overcome the good looks part for it, but good looks are still good looks. Women (and there are documented scientific studies to back this up) find money and power attractive. Give two groups of women the same pictures of men, tell one group they're normal guys, and the other that they're CEO's, and suddenly the CEO group find the guys so much more attractive.
Both sexes are equally base in their basic desires, but both those things are natural. Looks are just about the best measure men can get of a womans fitness. Whereas since men were more classically the hunters, the man who tells the others what to do, and comes home with the biggest lump of mammoth, is the one that the women are going to pick.0 -
Divorce her before she turns into a monsterAlias_Omega wrote: »A bit of a thread for fun.
Mrs Alias (married to me with 3 children, aged 25) has recently had a good moan that i apparently 'look at other women', which includes looking at various picture threads on MSE, and other forums that Mr Alias uses.
I mentioned to Mrs Alias that i might buy myself a copy of Nuts, as ive not purchased one for a whilst, when she went up like a fizzy bottle of pop.
Mrs Alias is allowed to purchase all the usual womens mags, but Mr Alias isnt allowed FHM, Nuts, Bizarre, Zoo, The Sun (Page 3) etc..

YesI wish my OH did buy FHM, as I like the jokes in there and rather silly articles on an occasional basis, although not enough to pay the cover price for it. Such photographs of women are everywhere.
If my OH was to make a big fuss about the pictures or make me feel that I was in any way second best, I don't suppose I would be with him, because being with him would just make me unhappy. If I tried to ban him from doing anything he wanted, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be around long either, though.0
